Hi everyone. I did get some prices for a pre-cruise stay. I asked prices for 2 nights 4/27 - 4/29/12 at the Hyatt Regency Long Beach and the Doubletree in San Pedro. The group rates are as follows and do not include tax:

Hyatt
$189 single or double occupancy
$13.95 Continental breakfast
$17.95 Breakfast buffet
No transportation from airport. Recommends using Super Shuttle $17.00 per person. Also available is Yellow Cab

DoubleTree
$149 single occupancy
$159 double occupancy

Thanks for doing this we will probably stay with friends..but if not we are in!
$13.95 breakfast buffer
Shuttle service to the cruise terminal
Complimentary transportation with 5 miles

For those driving to the hotel and leaving your car there:
$189 for your room
Includes 2 breakfast buffets and 2 drink coupons

I am holding group space at both hotels so please let me know if you want to be included at either hotel.

I don't mind looking into other hotels. I'm easy.

Thanks for doing this ..I think we may be staying with friends but if not we will be in!

I don't think we are listed under "Find your 2012 Wonder Cruise"..does anyone know about this?..not that it's hard to find this thread with so many folks posting constantly!

Anyone from Seattle on this cruise?

As much as I love my computer, I still love the feel & look of a real book. So I went and bought a new one today.

"Hawaii by Cruise Ship" by Anne Vipond!!

Porch swing, sweet tea & new book...woohoo!:cloud9:
That's the one I have! I LOVE the pictures. I also have Alaska by Cruise Ship by her as well. They are my favorites of the many travel books I have!

Bev, I'm a bit concerned with the rates the Hyatt quoted you. When I looked online (I had to do the 2 weeks before, because our days aren't opened yet) but their online Hyatt rate was $169.00 and their AAA rate was $152.10. We might want to wait the couple of weeks to see if their online rate is better or even use it as levage to talk them down a bit more.

As of 12:23 am EST, you can book a 10a stateroom for this cruise. We just "re-shopped" our 9c to a 11a. I think that was the last 11a since its not available now.

JANICE!!! What a joy it will be to see Trevor again...and you too, of course! :grouphug:

Aloha to all of you out there... We are looking forward to meeting the new and old friends we have with us. :grouphug: I moved our Fantasy 06/23/12 rese. Now, we are in a cat 07A Navigator's Verandah. This is a new cat for us. We usually stay in a cat 05B mid ship. I'm really nerves to be in a cat 07A aft. I hope there isn't a lot of motion. Either way, we are happy to be sailing with y'all to a fantastic location.

Welcome!!:woohoo:

So instead of doing the Eastern Carribean in Feb. we will now be joining all of you on this "Wonder"- ful cruise to Hawaii!!!

Traveling will be me (Annette, 42 at time of sailing) and my Dsis (Amanda, 43). Since this cruise is in between my and Amanda's bday, we will be celebrating both on the ship. My bday is 2/3 and her's is 6/22. We love the Wonder!

Our last cruise was March 10, 2011 for 3 nights on the Dream and before that is was the 14 night WBTA.

I gotta to start reading since this thread is already over 50 pages long!

Annette :)

OH MY GOODNESS!!! Annette! What fun to sail with you two again! :grouphug:

We are not too far from you. Missoula, MT. We previously lived in Portland. We will be driving thru Seattle on the way to Vancouver for our Alaska cruise at the end of July.

Last time I checked Irish Cowboy hadn't posted anything since Monday before the announcement. Adding all the new cruises must be frightening him! :lmao: Or perhaps he is on vacation.

Welcome Aboard... Nice you are here.

9A, 6A, 5A & B, 4A,B,E all available right now (2a)

.

my husband and I are booked! we have a category 9b!! This cruise is like my dream come true I can't wait to go! This year cannot go by fast enough!

I am going to have to leave y'all now. I have to be at work :drive:without internet in 5 hours. :tink:Everyone, have sweet dreams.... Hawaii will be here before we know it.

You make your own ressies for Palo, excursions, etc. You just can't make any changes to the actually reservation yourself, i.e. add a person, change to another cat. You also make your payments thru the TA. DU has been wonderful working for us. This booking I slept in, woke to check my messages and had a cabin. :goodvibes TA called me, we talked and she arranged to move us to a sideways CAT 11. Plus they give me extra OBC AND they sponsor this board which has brought many wonderful people into our lives. :lovestruc

Thanks, I may have to look into this. Just not sure if I can since my reservation is an OBB I did back on the 2010 WBTA, I booked the 2011 WBTA but changed it to Hawaii. I have also paid about $6000 off it aswell. All these factors might change the usual rules, PLUS I already have $200 OBC from the OBB, Do I get the DU $400 ASWELL, or instead of.
Way too confusing for my current baby brain, Yep, It's turned to mush this pregnancy! :rotfl:

I have no regrets. Initially I transferred two cruise to my travel agent in 2008 out of greed as they offered a nice onboard credit. With the first two cruises I made sure that everything was exactly how I wanted and then transferred the cruises. Since then, I have given up more and more control to my travel agent as we have built up a relationship. This one is the first cruise that I have let her book from the start and I am pretty sure that we would not be on this cruise if it was not for her. She got me precisely what I wanted at first tier pricing. I still do my own reservations for Palo, excursions, etc. and will continue doing so.

Corinna

Thanks Corinna, I am going to do some research :thumbsup2

Hi Janice and Trevor, So glad you'll be coming along! :goodvibes

Thank you everyone for your kind words, and yes, he was a lovely man. Wonderful father and fantastic husband.

No I am going without the kids. My two oldest will be in 3rd and 1st grade and I just don't want them missing that much school. On top of that, my oldest has state testing in the beginning of May. As of right now I am hoping to go with a girlfriend but she needs to check with her parents to see if they can help watch her 2 kids. If she doesn't go, I will probably go solo. I will turn 34 soon and have never traveled by myself. I met Dh when I was 17 and we never went anywhere without the other from then on. So this is an independence trip of sorts although I am sure he will be with me in spirit. Dh was so outgoing that in a way, I feel like I have to live 2 lives fully now, one for me and one for him.

OK, I am also 34, good guess.
Good for you, a solo trip sounds like nourishment for the soul and body. I'm sure you'll have a fantastic time.

Hey Annette! It'll be fun cruising with you and your sis again :cheer2:

We are also having belated birthday celebrations on the cruise, as Mark and I have big birthdays coming up later this year :thumbsup2

So sorry about your husband. I lost mine this past August. We would have been married 34 years in October. We were supposed to go to Hawaii for our 30th anniversary, but his mom had a serious stroke and passed away so we had to cancel. I am traveling solo on this trip and so it will be bittersweet since he won't be here to enjoy it with me. But I have some good friends on this cruise and hope to make many more. Looking forward to meeting you on the ship.

I'm so sorry. I hope this cruise will be more sweet than bitter as you remember the good times with your dear husband.

That is a lesson that I have learned and will never forget. I finally got my card about this a week after I got back from the cruise. They had posted mine First class post on December 22nd and did not even use airmail. No surprise that it did not get here in time. I have to redo our ESTAs this year as ours expire in June and as soon as this is done, the confirmations will go in the holiday box.

Corinna

I remember you were waiting behind us at the laptop!!! I was sooooo annoyed about it all. It still kind of niggles me even now!!!:lmao:

Welcome. We had a Navigator Verandah once and liked it. Very cosy and cute. I didn't notice any extra movement at the back of the ship.

Oh, I must get that one. I had her Panama Canal book and it was excellent.

YEAH!!!!!:banana::banana::banana: I'm so glad you guys will be onboard, Deb!!! Jason and I have missed you guys and we can't wait to see you in just a couple weeks.....and then to know we'll see you again on the Hawaii trip!! It's now gotten to the point that if my boss gives me a hard time about this HI trip I might just have to quite my job----because I'm so excited and there are SO MANY old cruise friends going....including our entire original table of 6 from our recent Med/B2B (and anyone who read our blog from that trip knows how much we loved them)!!!

Hi Eric (and Jason) :wave2:

Laura, eeyorelvr10, great to sail with you again. Can I assume you will changing your vests out for some Hawaiian themed Mickey's? You have about 364 days left to find the material. Always looked forward to your appearances. This should be fun. Hopefully it will be warm and not cold.

Oooh Laura, that reminds me we will need some Hawaiian themed clothes I am sure. Coconut shells and grass skirt???:scared1::lmao::rotfl2:

When I got these quotes I thought they were high :scared1:compared to prices here in Philly. Prices online were less and I asked about that. They said the prices they gave me are guaranteed rates and do not have to be paid upfront. The prices online are advance purchase and no refunds if you have to cancel. (This is why I recommend travel insurance for everyone). I will hold on to these rates, because they might go up and this is guaranteed. If anyone finds better pricing somewhere :confused:else let me know. I am still going to look into other hotels :surfweb:for better rates.

Is anyone flying to CA from Philadelphia? :confused3 I know the pricing isn't out yet, but again if we have 10 people flying from Philadelphia, I can hold group space on the airlines. That means a small deposit and the balance doesn't have to be paid until next year. Best part is the price is guaranteed, so if the airfare goes up, our price doesn't. If the airfare goes down, we get the advantage. :thumbsup2

Bev

I'll leave the grass skirts and coconut shells to the guys.:rotfl2: I just want to get a lei from Mickey. :rotfl: I am so obsessed with going to Hawaii, :banana:I think about it all day long :cloud9:and trying to plan how :confused3to start planning. :lmao:

Can't wait to see old friends:hug:and make new friends. :grouphug:
