My reservation has now changed as well. It is a shame though that they have shortened what is now the second day at Cabo. I really want to do the Dolphin Trainer for a day, but it starts at 9:00 and takes five hours so I think I might be out of luck unless they open the facility early for DCL.

Corinna

John, myself and the rest of our family did Dolphin Trainer for a day at Discovery Cove next to Sea World in Orlando. I would do it again in a heartbeat if we have the time.

you guys are right, honolulu is omitted by name from the day by day, and not in the port stop list....i checked my original ressie email and honolulu is not listed in the port list on that either, but was on website when we booked....i emailed disney and asked, as that would greatly alter my plans....lets see if they answer...i would guess that they might just still be working on details, i am sure they dont want all of their dvc members etc to miss seeing aulani....

in a perfect world, dcl would extend our port hours and reduce ensenada, other cruise lines only stop their for a few hours at night to comply and stay extra time in hawaii...even a few more hours in each port would allow for better planning...just my 2 cents ow well...

just checked dcl site and on the front where you click on 2012 cruises and go down to hawaii, original itinerary is still their, with oahu, but this has been the same since they posted it a few months ago, who knows whats up....

I myself have emailed DCL about extra time on the islands, and either a tad less time at sea or less time in Ensenada. I was particulary requesting more evening time on an island that has a Luau.. I would LOVE to see a Hawaiin Luau. They emailed me back and said that they would forward my request/concern... I also recommened that they have a look see at these boards once in a while!.. They told me that these boards were not afflilated with DCL. I did write them back and let them know that I did realize this, BUT, suggested that they might want to have a cast memeber take a peek now and then, and maybe report back to "management" what they find here.. I told them who better to get advice/what works/what doesn't work, than from the people who actually pay to for their services!.. If you ask me, that is a million dollar idea!.. :rotfl::surfweb:

Thy do read the dis even if they don't say so. You'd be surprise at what the CM's know. The captain on the 1st Alaska cruise even referred to the disboards in 1 of the announcements.

Hi to all! And Aloha!!!

Just came across this thread after booking last weekend on DVC points...Cat. 4B GTY. Don't know when I'll get my stateroom number...anybody out there know when those get assigned? All I know is that it is on Deck 8 forward or aft. Lots of points used, but who cares? 15 nights to Hawaii and back with no huge cash outlay for the cruise itself! Just the $95 exchange fee. I'm planning on spending plenty on souvenirs, sightseeing, and fun in the sun!

This is just my 2nd DCL cruise. We all went on a NYE cruise to the W. Caribbean in 2005-2006 and had a great time! We're looking forward to this cruise immensely! I'll be traveling with 2 of my 3 sons, 24 and 26 at the time of the cruise. They are hoping that some of you are travelling with daughters of the same ages!

Since you all are the expert cruisers, anything special I need to do at this point? I can't book any activities or excursions until Jan. 31st...I don't think I'm going to make it that long...the waiting is already too much for me!

Thanks so much and looking forward to the cruise! Waiting 343 days or so will surely kill me! :lmao:

If we could convince DCL to reduce the time we spend in Ensenada, it will not buy us a lot of time. However, if we can get them to save 6 hours, it would be enough to sail by Kilauea. As it is now, the map does not have us going by Kilauea as we leave the big island. Kilauea is so unpredictable, it’s impossible to know where lava flows will be, one relatively consistent area for lava viewing is the coast line near Kalapana where lava flows from the Pu`u`O`o vent of Kilauea into the ocean. But, would they get us close enough to see much? I don't know but would want to try if given the opportunity.

I have done Trainer for a day at Discovery Cove four times. In 2006, I did it on my birthday and I was the only person doing it. I have also done Trainer for a Day at Seaworld San Diego. I also did the Marine Mammal Keeper experience at Seaworld Orlando twice. On top of that, I did the normal dolphin swim experience at Discovery Cove three times, did Dolphins in Depth at Epcot, did a dolphin swim in Cozumel and most recently at the Atlantis in Dubai. So this would not be anything new for me, but I still have my heart set on it.

Welcome. Usually the room allocation is done about 45 days out from the cruise, but very occasionally it happens randomly at any time!!!

Sometimes it seems like DCL don't actually know much about the places they take the ships to. The volcano above seems an obvious sight to see to be honest and it does look like it wouldn't be that hard a job to slip it into the itinerary.

Perhaps a letter to a few senior people would be a good idea???

Good Morning, Happy Cruisers!

If any of you are from Missouri or Minnesota, I hope y'all are OK!

John, myself and the rest of our family did Dolphin Trainer for a day at Discovery Cove next to Sea World in Orlando. I would do it again in a heartbeat if we have the time.

We did the dolphin swim there and feel the same way. AMazing!

Can you say OBSESSED with dolphins? :rotfl: Clearly you chose your DIS name well!

When I pulled up my reservation the only port showing is Ensenada, all the other days that were not indicated as 'at sea' did not reflect a port.
Day 6 - - Friday, May 4, 2012
No activities reserved.
Day 7 - - Saturday, May 5, 2012
No activities reserved.
Day 8 - - Sunday, May 6, 2012
No activities reserved.
Day 9 - - Monday, May 7, 2012
No activities reserved.
Day 10 - At Sea - Tuesday, May 8, 2012
No activities reserved.
Day 11 - At Sea - Wednesday, May 9, 2012
No activities reserved.
Day 12 - At Sea - Thursday, May 10, 2012
No activities reserved.
Day 13 - At Sea - Friday, May 11, 2012
No activities reserved.
Day 14 - At Sea - Saturday, May 12, 2012
No activities reserved.
Day 15 - Ensenada - Sunday, May 13, 2012

There are no available cabins available from the "find a cruise" site so it doesn't let you reflect the itinerary from there. Your day 8 is where Ohau would be. I know they updated other port sites on Friday. They notified those of us on the October 30 Mexico cruise that Mazatlan, Mexico was removed. I think they are having another system issue.

No Honolulu would be a deal breaker for us. The only reason DH was willing to cruise for so long was to visit Pearl Harbor.

Happy (and SAFE) day, all!

I gave a Disney Cruise Line party right before we went on the EBTA and Med and as a gift I received a Disney figurine. I don't remember off hand the site I got the info on the party. The figurine is about 8 inches tall and I guess it supposed to be a totem pole. It says Disney Cruise Line Sailing to Alaska in 2011 on the bottom front of the totem pole. On the pole there is Donald, Goofy and Mickey, I was wondering if this was available on the cruise. It is a good size figurine.

I did one of those as well, i believe it was Houseparty.com
It was alot of fun and my friends really enjoyed
I do not think you can buy the totem anywhere (maybe try e-bay)

i hope Disney does ANOTHER house party - it was a ton of fun!

We leave on Saturday for a week of vacation which includes 5 nights on the Dream and a few days at WDW. I really need this break. The stress at work has been unbelievable. Once this is over our next cruise I to Hawaii! My inlaws now want to join us, so I an going to try to book them while on board.

....i checked my original ressie email and honolulu is not listed in the port list on that either,

I went and check my reservation email too.....we booked this cruise while on Magic on May 12th. I do have all 4 ports in my email, including Honolulu. Weird how different this is from person to person.....

Welcome aboard mommacat56 :)

Good Morning, Happy Cruisers!

If any of you are from Missouri or Minnesota, I hope y'all are OK!

I'm from MO...a little more then 2 hours away from Joplin and my heart breaks to see such devastation there.....

Just wanted to share the Senior Prom pictures and the 8th grade graduation dance pictures for my two GD's Aspen and Bailey.
Lovely!

Also, you're right, my itinerary is missing Oahu also!

in a perfect world, dcl would extend our port hours and reduce ensenada, other cruise lines only stop their for a few hours at night to comply and stay extra time in hawaii...even a few more hours in each port would allow for better planning...just my 2 cents ow well...
In my email to them, I suggested they reduce Ensenada hours so we could have Kilauea or Na Pali cruising or additional time in ports. Even just one of those would be wonderful!

I think they are having another system issue.
I'm hopeful they are changing the itinerary to include some scenic cruising, but I'm afraid you might be right about it being a system issue. My 2 prior MR cruises (2005 and 2008) are still both listed as 15-Day Hawaiian, and have been since we booked the Hawaii cruise. As much as we enjoyed MR, I WISH they had both been Hawaii cruises. :rotfl: BTW - loved the design, and also the pictures!

:surfweb:

I went into my reservation on the DCL website and it still showed no named ports of call for the days in Hawaii. But then I came in through cruises destinations and got the following on DCL info:

Day Port Guest Ashore Guest Onboard
1 Los Angeles, California — 4:00 p.m.
2 At Sea — —
3 At Sea — —
4 At Sea — —
5 At Sea — —
6 Hilo, Hawaii 12:00 p.m. 7:30 p.m.
7 Kahului, Maui 7:30 a.m. 7:30 p.m.
8 Honolulu, Oahu 7:30 a.m. 7:30 p.m.
9 Nawiliwili, Kauai 7:30 a.m. 5:30 p.m.
10 At Sea — —
11 At Sea — —
12 At Sea — —
13 At Sea — —
14 At Sea — —
15 Ensenada, Mexico 8:00 a.m. 4:30 p.m.
16 Los Angeles, California 9:30 a.m. —
So I think it is still just a system issue - strange issue - but system issue.

Do you want a FREE (courtesy of the amazing "Lanyard Team") custom lanyard and name badge to commemorate your WONDERful DCL Hawaii cruise and help you connect with your DIS friends?!

If so.....then email me the following quick information:

1.) DISBoards screen-name(s): I need the DISBoard name(s) spelled and capitalized the way you want it on your name badge. For many/most groups, there will probably be only one DIS name for a group of people---that is totally fine. If there ARE multiple different DIS names/users in a group, let me know all of them but ALSO be sure to link the correct DIS name with the correct person.
2.) First Name(s): Please give me the first name of every person in your party who would like a lanyard. Make sure the names are typed the way you want them to appear on the name badge. Also---and this is important---make sure that the FIRST name you send is the primary DIS user under the screen-name you send!
3.) Stateroom #: I will try to give out all the lanyards in the port or at a meet onboard on embarkation day...but if I miss you, I need your room # so that I can deliver them to you later. If you are GTY, that's fine, just say so. There will be plenty of time later to fill in room #'s or to make changes if people switch rooms. (Note: If your traveling group is in more than one cabin, I really only need ONE cabin total per group)

Please put all the above information into an email and send it to this address: dcl.hawaii.lanyards@gmail.com

here is the reply I got from dcl:

5/23/11 Dear Jessica, Thank you for choosing a Disney Cruise Line vacation! I would be happy to assist you. Please be assured that we will be making a stop at Honolulu. The website team is working on adding the destination to the website. If you have questions or need further assistance, feel free to contact us.

Good to hear Oahu is a go... I will be emailing her back with suggestion for added port time/ Napali cruise by/lava cruise by etc....Not trying to be nagging, however they have never done this cruise before, so maybe they will be open to suggestions....we will see if it helps any:goodvibes

we will also be renting a car on most islands and seeing some sites, trying to narrow down to a few for each island is the hard part:eek:

Alright I feel the need to chime in here. Maybe this will be the voice of reason, or it may upset a few. If it upsets you let me apologize in advance. First off, if a port is missing on line, please keep in mind how great tge IT department is. (Sarcasim) The same thing happened when I got my Confermation for the Panama cruise, a whole day was not on there and it just happened to be canal day. Second, I never trust the animated route map on line. I have found it to be very unreliable to the acctual route taken. Once we are over there the Nav officer with the help of computers will be able to figure out if they can sail to see a glowing volcano. Like someone else said, when it comes to this particular intinerary we are Ginny pigs. It is not going to be perfect, and I for one am willing to accept that when it comes to the intenerary. It does need to be up to the usual service standard. O.K. there is my two cents.
