...... For my fellow DVC members, remember that the Grand Califorinan is now sold out of points. Late April is very popular here especially on the weekend. I wish you good luck at 7 months if you do not own there. There are only like a tolotal of 50 units there. I think it goes up a bit when two bedroom lock offs get booked as a studio and as a one bedroom.

Good point!! :thumbsup2

We own some points there and have to really jump on it for the holiday seasons (of which April is one with Easter & all the spring breaks!)....so, good advice to book as soon as it opens for you.

Hyatt at Long Beach is nice and close to several restaurants, stayed there last September whilst on a business trip.

For cruises we stay at what was once a Holiday Inn but is now a Clarion, loved the rooms as they had 13' ceilings antique furniture, etc etc , will be there is a couple of weeks so who knows it might have changed. We will see.

Never mind this place, it is not a Clarion anymore, current review are not the best.

Plus they lost our upcoming prepaid reservation.

Good to hear another good report of the Hyatt, thanks :thumbsup2

Thanks everyone for the info. That's exactly what I needed to know. I will look into the Hyatt as one of our choices. I'm glad to hear there is a shuttle from the airport and restaurants nearby. The easier, the better.

Maybe we should organise a pre-cruise meet! :goodvibes

We would be difinately interested in a vow renewel in Hawaii. - 45 years. - It is very expensive to do it on the ship. A group one sounds like fun.

Love to do the FE. I admit it was a little hectic doing a 100 but it was fun. Would agree with any decisions made.

Scavenger hunt is a lot of fun. We did it on the PC. I would recommend doing it in groups of 4- it is a lot for two people to do in one day.

We would like to stay in LA a couple of days before and maybe one or two after. I was hoping Disney would offer some type of package that would include the hotel- probably- Paradise pier and then transfers to the ship. They did it for the 08 pc and provided transfers for the 2010 PC .

Lynne- love the pics

I was going to ask when on ship in 2 weeks. I " wonder" if theyd give us some kind of group rate? What is it we need to pay for?
Could we do it on the sly on secret deck?

Hi Everyone,

So excited that we were able to book two rooms (9 and 11) on this amazing cruise! It's nice to see so many familiar faces (or at least DIS names . . . LOL). I almost fell over when you already had 30 pages on the board from just two days ago! Shouldn't be surprised though.

Oh, and let me introduce us. My name is Theresa and I'll be sailing with Ken (DH), and our two boys, Kaleb (17) and Peter (15) (ages as of cruise). We'll be celebrating Kaleb's graduation for high school (a little early, but he was cool with that). He'll have to take a few class finals early, but thought it was worth it! Only thing that might hold us back is DH's work schedule, but we won't know until January. This is our 6th Disney Cruise.

Added our name to the roll call and champagne ladies, but wasn't sure if that was the same as the wine tasting from the WPTA 2010.

This is going to be an amazing cruise . . .Looking forward to meeting more DIS friends this time around.

I can't seem to find a thread for this cruise so I figured I'd start one. I know we have a ton of questions since we've never sailed with Disney before. Plus, we have several ports to do research on since we've never been to Hawaii or Mexico. Hopefully we can all get together in one place, help one another out, and while at it make some lifelong friends. I've done this many times on the WDW boards via trip reports and such. The cruise forum should work the same, right? We are a family of 5 cruising with Disney for the first time. (Kids ages 5, 9, and 12) We plan to add a few days at Disneyland prior to our sailing date. (Another first for us) We opted to book two rooms for our party since it was @ $5000 less than the family suite. I hope to talk my parents into joining us, we'll see. As long as the ship itself isn't filled to capacity I can add them to our cabins. Our family was planning a trip to both destinations anyway. When Disney made this announcement it just hurried things along for us. We were planning to go in December 2012 or early 2013. I know we are super excited and can not wait to go! Now I just need to figure out how to come up with that much $$$ within a year! Yikes! Please sign up if you're sailing too!

It's been a while since I was on here. For some reason my paragraphs are showing all together. Anyone know how to change the settings so they appear as I had written them? (Spaced out properly)

Just noticed our cruise is back up on the Disney website, 4A Gty only, but there!

I can't believe this thread is at 40 pages already!! Well, I can but... I guess I am late to the party. On this cruise will be myself, Tess, my husband, David and his mother, Violet. I think I already recognize some screen names from the Panama Canal cruise. We are super, super excited! I can't wait to get to know you all over the next year!

Hi Tess and David, it will be nice to see you again.:wave2:

Hello! We signed up and paid the deposit on Thursday. We're looking forward to a nice long cruise together:thumbsup2 (By then I will have been on two long ones with girlfriends PC & WBTA)

That's a brilliant analysis! I could vote for that one, but will probably make 100 anyway. I just like to give things to people :confused3

Insuremytrip like someone else already said. They're great - and if you don't know what you're doing, you can call them and they'll help you choose one.

Have a TERRIFIC time in Bermuda!

Hi Linda :wave2:

I can put you up a sheet in the Google Docs file so people can sign up on there and you can capture the info from there if you want. Let me know exactly what info you want beyone DIS NAME and cabin number

Just DIS Name and cabin number is perfect. I don't need any more information than this.

Hello Everyone ! Sorry I am late to the party. Just found out yesterday I am on this cruise !!!:thumbsup2 I can't express how excited I am about this cruise !!! I will be turning ** on April 30th. My DH can't take the time off of work and we have a Thanksgiving cruise planned for 2012 so I will be rooming with Lindsay. Bev's daughter.

I look forward to seeing old friends and meeting new friends over the next year.:)

I have never been to Hawaii and it's been on my bucket list for years !

Welcome to the group.

I did not see this mentioned on the DCL website, so I am assuming the answer is no. But does anyone know if any of these ports are tender ports? Thanks for any insight!

Initially I had seen somewhere that two ports are tender ports. I can't remember which two though. However, Cruise Critic seems to suggest that we can dock at all ports.

So we just confirmed this with our TA. We had actually gotten a hold on a 10C on friday ourselves, but decided to get the 9B that our TA had found instead.

We are all really looking forward to this!

Welcome.

This IS a half baked idea but thought I'd risk posting it. I understand people wanting their own vow renewal and think they should do it - but I wonder if there has ever been a multiple vow renewal - like many of us at one event? I know there have been times, especially on longer cruises, we could use an reminder of why we are together. It could be a great picture op too. Maybe a really dumb idea?

Actually I think would be really neat idea! My question is would you do that on ship or on a hawaiin island. We have so many days at sea that it would be great to do on ship. I know alot of our happiest family moments have been on a disney cruise and thats why we keep going. Im surely not opposed to it and what would be neat is to have a group luncheon at Palo after. We wouldnt have to pay for caterers LOL

This sounds like a fantastic idea. If we were not doing our vow renewal this year, then I would be all over this. The ship would not be an option as the biggest venue on board is only suitable for up to 30 people. Larger weddings/ vow renewals can only take place on Castaway Cay.

Checked online for the various ports - seems we've got the ports with docks for each of the islands. Yeah - more time to see/do things.

They are working on the port building in Oahu for Pier 2, scheduled to be open this fall.

________

Mother's Day (US) 2012 is May 13 - we'll be in Ensenada

They've got a lovely atrium that no one uses late at night...what if we all just spontaneously gathered there one Sea Night?

Considering that weddings and vow renewals are big money for them, I think they would move us on very swiftly. They charge $2500 for the privilege

Hello All!

My name is Ann and DH, DS (3 next year) and I are booked on this cruise! We haven't even taken our first cruise with Disney yet but are doing so on 6/21/11 to Alaska. I just went to Maui on a company trip in February and LOVED it! I can't wait for this trip and sharing it with so many people!

DH--Meerkat504--and I would love to join the FE exchange. Should I PM threebrits to put my name on the list?

Looking forward to getting to know people before we board. Aloha!:flower3::flower3::flower3::flower3::wave2:;)

Is anyone else planning on going to LA a few days before the cruise? We're thinking about 2 days before and I want to go to DisneyLand. I was never there. There's no way to go to LA before a Disney Cruise and not go to DL. Any suggestions from anyone about where to stay? :confused3I didn't buy transfers so I don't know if there are any hotels in LA that offer transportation to the port. Maybe if others are also going to DL we can have a "Minnie" lol meet there. :rotfl2:

I can't wait for this cruise. Hawaii, here we come.

Bev :)

There are lots of places to stay at DL. Unlike WDW even a lot of the off site places are within walking distance. There is a ton of info over on the DL board.

Just wondering if there will be a Pirate's Night since the ship will not be going to, coming from or in the Caribbean. :confused3 Any ideas?

Also, since there will probably be alot of us go to LA a couple of days before, I'll call the Hyatt and see if we can get group rates. I'm sure we'll have enough rooms for group rates. Does anyone mind if I call or does anyone else have any ideas?

Bev
