It's time ladies.......

CHAMPAGNE GIRLS.....CHAMPAGNE GIRLS.......CHAMPAGNE GIRLS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Calling all the Champagne Girls.....I'm about to make an announcement:

I will be co-hosting a Champagne Girls Tasting, along with my co-host and co-originator Mandy UK/angel, for women only on the Hawaiian cruise. Every adult woman is invited. You don't have to drink champagne to attend, but it certainly doesn't hurt if you do.

Here's how it works when I do it:

I request a room from DCL. I order a variety of champagne from DCL. I put it on my bill. All the ladies attending are required to wear pink. Pink leis and pink flowers for your hair will be provided for everyone to wear. We will take a group picture that will be very pink. We will "taste," "drink," "guzzle" and consume all the champagne while discussing it and many other things. It's a fun, fun way to spend two hours on a sea day.

We have a mascot, Sassy Bubbles, who is attending and will be dressed as a pink tink. We have ladies who won't drink any champagne, they are honorary members and can attend without any charge. We have ladies who will just have a little champagne and not all of the varieties, they are the sippers and will be charged $5 cash to attend. We have ladies who are drinkers/guzzlers and will drink all the various champagnes offered, they are the tasters and will be charged $10 cash to attend. I collect some money to offset part of the costs to me. In no way does it cover all of my expenses, but I prefer to offer it at a minimal price so that many more ladies will be able to attend. I always say, "the more the merrier."

If you are interested in attending please post on page one of the spreadsheet on this thread....look for the tab, tell me your name, stateroom number and category preference.....honorary member, sipper or taster.....so I can determine how much champagne I need to order.

Here are some pictures of three previous Champagne Girls Tastings that I have done:

Our first tasting was done in 2008, the second in 2009 and the third in 2011 on the first Alaskan. Since then more Champagne Girls Tastings have been done by others that attended, not by me. Personally, I think they stole the name PINK for the Champagne Bar on the DREAM from us. hahaha.

I wish I could say I would get whatever is decided, but I see no point if I don't like it. So I can safely say I will not be getting one if it is number 3. Sorry. I just don't see why I would buy something I don't like.

I can't blame you at all for feeling that way. But I don't think you have to worry because I think the reworked number 1 is in the running for top leader. How do you feel about that one?

Deb, I am going to add it to the Welcome Wagon post that I am working on. Will devote more time to the Welcome Wagon post as soon as WBTA stuff slows down.

You say the nicest things, Deb!
thankyou.gif

And I would say the same about you!!

BTW, I have edited the post a number of times already. Just be certain to get the most current revision when you copy it. I think I'm finished now. hahaha.

We were on the '08 WBPC cruise(and this years of course but you didn't ask that;)!)

Which one? We were on the Westbound in 08.

Me!

Also Cheri (NotSoLittleMermaid) and Monica (mishoe01) and Holly (HollyTyler) and Kathe(Katypop) and Deb & John (EllaEnchanted) Don't know who is doing FEs...don't think some have even thought about it yet...as I haven't and won't until December.

.

And Angie and Dennis(Mrs Mork and Dr Hug), Ann and Albert(FrodoUK and BilboUK), Chuck, Connie and Patrick(CQuick), Jan and Tom(JLSE)

I also like the reworked number 1. Good job!! But I will go along with whatever the majority wants.

YES, me and DH, 1Grumpy John, were on the WBPC in '08. We're the Ship of Thieves!!!!!

Thanks guys, Your all great. I was thinking as I was typing and physically forgot to specify which one. For now, I'm keeping a running list of fellow repeat cruisers to see if something I'm planning works out. Not concrete yet but preparing for it now. Just in case.....

I'm in at the "Guzzler" rate since I don't see a category higher!!:rotfl2: I'm happy to help out more with costs too. Just let me know. :goodvibes

And thanks for organizing an event that looks like a lot of fun! :cool1:
Looking forward to meeting everyone... :wave2:

I will PM you when I get ready to post to see if I have the most current version!

Also, if we are under the minimum, we could probably order some extra and then sell them to those other cruisers who will be running to the shops to try and purchase them because we are all wearing them! :rotfl:

I could probably pay for the cost of my shirts by selling the others................:cool1:

Selling merchandise with Disney characters on the ship might bring out the Disney copyright police.

:rolleyes1 OK, well, it was me, I have to admit it. :upsidedow

I went to the CG list on the spread sheet and Deb was not the first person on the list and Mandy was not second. I was first......

so

:thumbsup2 I moved them to the top. :woohoo:

(Sure hope I did not mess up anyone. Please check your entry.)

AND
What if there are people who signed up, then canceled their reservation but still are on the list? I know AuntLynn has canceled her reservation. Not sure about others..... :confused3

Sorry I am late to the shirt voting party, I was away from my computer all weekend so have not had a chance to respond.

I vote shirt # 3. The color is great, the slogans are great and the characters are great!.. It has alot going for it.

But, I will take 4 shirts no matter what is chosen. (2 adults, 2 kids) I don't care for the new #1, but would wear it anyway to be a part of this fabulous group! If I never wear it again, so be it, it will be a great memento of a great trip that I will have taken with my boys, and my Mom's first cruise!..Mark me down for 4!

Mean Bob is making me go to the gym (again). When we get home I have to clean house 'cause we have friends coming over tomorrow and I don't want them talking bad about me. So, don't know when I'll get the new panels done, but will work on them.

Val

:lmao:I do the same thing!! Thankfully we have friends over every couple of weeks so the house gets cleaned on somewhat of a regular schedule. :rotfl2:

And Angie and Dennis(Mrs Mork and Dr Hug), Ann and Albert(FrodoUK and BilboUK), Chuck, Connie and Patrick(CQuick), Jan and Tom(JLSE)

Yes, us!! :woohoo:

Well, I can only answer why I would. The shirts are to identify with this group, I want to identify with this group, if the group decides on a pattern that is not my choice then I make the decision to get this wonderful memory shirt that will remind me of this group of people regardless of whether I will wear it again or not. To me it is not about buying a shirt I love. I could do that at the local mall. It's about the people that will be wearing one just like it. :grouphug:

See that's were I differ. I don't think I need a shirt to identify with the group. I have been on cruises with a bunch of you before and thus seen and meet a bunch of you before. To me the shirt is a added momento that I am going to want to wear again, hence why I don't see myself buying one I don't like.

I agree. If I like the shirt I will buy it if not I will not. I have a tropical shirt with Mickey on it that I got from the D outlet or $10 some years back. We all have a choice to order it or not.

I was also on the 11 night southern in '06....but I didn't know about the DISers until I got onboard and saw everyone with lanyards and asked. I got home from that cruise and signed right up.....Join Date: Oct 2006. That was my favorite cruise for ports so far to date. I wish they would do another one like it but not during the holidays. That raises the price.

I guess I'll just have to "settle" for Hawaii.....hahaha!

here is how the poll on the shirt design is going as of this morning 7:30 SPT ending with posting 3057. I only polled your first choice. Since yesterday, three more people have voted, all for #3. I only counted Mickeymom923 as one vote because I failed to ask others to give me a count for those they are cruising with that might have an opinion - sorry.

I was on the PC cruise with Alan and never saw hide nor hair of him. I think he's bought a "renders one invisible" shirt :rotfl2:

Alan asked about the schedule for ordering shirts. I am not sure about when we would need to place an order. I had written to Becky about this too. She indicated it will take 6-8 weeks to manufacturer and mail them out. I advised her that her company was way more efficient then I had expected and that we would not want to put in a order for a while, maybe some time like near the end of the year. They will need time to manufacturer them and mail them. We would want to build in time in case there are any problems. But - I know we won't want to pay for anything until we are as certain as possible we are on the cruise. So I would like to get everything we can done up front, design, design selection, setting up the ordering and paying system, purchase agreement, and then take orders up until the last reasonable date.

If any of you have had experience with this type of process (I already reached out to Noel who was very helpful), any suggestions would be appreciated.

Val
