This may sound harsh and I apologize but it is the only way I know how to put it. Val has worked her rear end off designing this shirt. It is a great design. Hey all,

So I know that we haven't been nearly as active as normal on this thread lately----life is crazy. Both our jobs have just gotten insane the last couple months, plus we're planning our wedding AND heading into the high gear cheerleading season with my girls cheer2:).....but I wanted to post, for those that are interested, some wedding updates. Our save the dates went out this week (finally----our goal had been to get them out the first week of Nov. so we're a full month behind!). I will have to scan an image and try to upload it here later so people can see...but we designed and made them ourselves and I think they're cute. Our wedding website is also up and running now (we're using a site instead of traditional mail RSVP's etc.). The site is: www.libeywedding.com

The folks from Shutters should be getting credit on our site because nearly every photo on there was taken aboard the Magic or the Wonder!

Congratulations again. The site looks great, recognize some of the pictures from standing in lines on the ships.

However, currently the count is at 124 adult shirts and if everyone fills their pre-orders, we will qualify for the lower cost of $33.50 for sizes small through XL, and $38.50 for XXL and XXXL. This charge includes an estimate for the shipping and handling from the shirt maker. These prices are stated with the following disclaimer: This is based on us getting at least 100 shirts paid for currently 56 shirts have been paid for. If we don't get the 100 paid for, I'll let everyone know and you can decide if you want to increase your shirt cost or have me refund your money.
Material is $16 a yard. $15 plus $1 for maker shipping and handling.

To mail your shirts and material to those of you in the US, I plan to use the USPS priority mail envelopes. At a cost of $7.45, $4.95, plus $2.50 for insurance. (note if you ordered both shirts and material want the material shipping earlier then the shirts, I will need you to send separate USPS mailing charges). The envelopes hold up to 3 shirts. If you have ordered more then 3 shirts, increase the mailing costs accordingly.

Disclaimer: Pricing info is based on us getting at least 100 shirts paid for. We have about 124 ordered. If we don't get at least 100 paid for, I'll let everyone know and you can decide if you want to increase your shirt cost or have me refund your money.

The shipping and handling charge is the manufacturer's estimate based on past experience and the number we plan to order now. If anything changes, such as the USPS raising rates, etc., the charge might increase slightly, or, it could go down. I'll let you all know and should a refund be in order, because I'll be leaving your $ in the PayPal account, it won't be hard to refund.

Due date. I've started taking $ because board members were asking if they could send it now and since we reached the 100, I said yes. I need to send the $ to Becky at the end of the year, before 1-1-12.

PLEASE REMEMBER in order to avoid PayPal incorrectly charging a transaction fee, you must DESIGNATE PAYMENT AS A PERSONAL GIFT not a merchant merchandise transaction.

I am glad you said something. For some reason I was thinking it was actually New Year's Eve. I would have been one day behind. oops!



I cannot say for sure, but I think they only open blocks of spaces for things at each Castaway level. For instance, if they have 60 spots for a tour, 20 spots are open for Platinum, 20 for Gold, 10 for Silver and 10 for new cruisers. At least I think that is how it works. So, I would not get discouraged, I am sure you will be able to book what you want!

This is not the way it worked on the Alaska cruises. We are platinum, booked ours and we were sailing with first time cruisers. Even though linked, the system would not let me book their excursions early and when it opened for them there were none available on the White Pass trip we had booked. So, we canceled ours and rebooked on an excursion that we could all get on. And while it kind of was a bummer at the time, we had a great time and it really did not matter in the end. Roll with the punches and just enjoy. Life is way, way too short to worry.

A number of people have asked me if our shirts are going to be white background with only the trim in blue.

I have explained I only posted with the white so the images would be easier to see. The response I got was they like the white just because the images are easier to see and it looks less busy, then with the blue background.

While it would be easy to get the background changed to white while they are changing the order of the ports, what does the majority think? Should I send e-mails to those who have ordered and let you all vote?[/QUOTE]

We are trying to get the house decorated for the holidays. Actually, we have been planning and preparing for a month or more, but this weekend we are putting everything up. Right now the place looks like Christmas exploded. Our theme this year (yes every year we have a theme and every year about this time we say that next year we are leaving town) is 'Frank and Dean's Swingin' Yule Time Bash'. Our colors are the hot colors of the 60's, lime green, neon blue, fushia and teal. I found a white tree complete with rotating stand at the thrift store. We spent a couple of nights making Laugh'in Style glitter and jewel covered flowers and happy faces to hang in our windows, also peace doves. Mini lava lamps and martini glasses are our table decorations. I'll post pictures once we get more done.

Just got off the Wonder today...stared at our room for Hawaii...lol and had a restful, quiet time (well, except for the screamers in restaurants...haven't experienced that before).


Val, I like the blue background on the shirts too!! I think you have done a remarkable job with the design. For the extra material, I just wanted a bit to take it to a tailor & have pockets added - so maybe the half yard can slip into a mailer with 2 shirts??

Oh, and we are going to reserve a room at Aulani as well!! The computers were down today when we called DVC, so we'll keep trying. Maybe we can join in with the "mass transit" if there is room?? I do understand many wanting to do other things that day, of course. We spent a couple weeks there in 2008 so pretty much did all the touristy things we could squeeze in - now we just want to tour the Aulani facility and maybe the lazy river...lol

Thanks for pointing that out. I just did the onboard booking for the MV of the Fantasy and because of when DH got paid, we were 1 day behind in paying in full (to take advantage of early booking). When I went to book as soon as possible, there were NO Palo brunch or tea spots, and the earlier Remy times had already been taken. This was just one day after Platinum booking opened. I figured they only open some spots for Platinum, and left more for Gold and Silver, but I guess not. I know there are only 2 sea days on this cruise, and I am thinking there are more Platinum members doing the MV, but to have every spot gone in one day surprised me a little.
