APRIL 2005 discounts

I'm planning on staying 3-nights in April (4th-10th) after our Wonder Cruise.

I looked up the rates for April 2005 & noticed this is during Peak Season !

Has Disney historically offered room only discounts during this time?

If so, when did the codes come out, Jan? Feb? March? About what % off are they?

I think I'm going to go ahead a book the room with the AAA discount, but I really wanted to stay at the Poly, and there is no way I'm going to pay $400+ a night !

Have you checked with DCL for any add-on nights to your cruise package? We did that in 2002 at the Grand Floridian. I don't remember the exact rate, but it was lower than the rack rate at the time.

We did a WDW and Wonder cruise in April 2003 during peak spring break. The combined total of the cruise and the room (not including park passes) booked separately was more than the land/sea package, which also included the park passes. I think it's one of the few expeptions when it is cheaper. You might want to check into that, although depending on your cabin category it may limit your resort selection -- we ended up having to stay in a mod. based on our ship cabin. Our park stay was prior to the cruise with our land/sea package. But I added on a one night room only at rack rate so that we could get there Wed eve and then take full advantage of the UPHs that started with the day we checked into our package (Thur.)

I was originally planning to do the Land/Sea package, but the cruise dates & resort stay didn't coincide with my kids Spring Break, so I have to do the resort stay after the cruise & not before.

I'm going to call my travel agent & see if they can add a land package after the cruise for a reasonable price.

If it's outragous, do you know if they offer discounted room rates or packages during this time of the year. I want to know if it's even an option.

If you go to Mousesavers.com and look in the FAQ section, they have tracked room discounts and the dates they came out going back to 2001. I think April is a bit iffy because they usually don't discount during the week of Easter, but sometimes before and after it. It will depend upon the timing of your trip in relation to Easter.

If they have discounts, I don't know how good they are since I've never been there during peak season.
