April 19, 2008 - Western - VERY Early Roll Call - Anyone??!!

I am hoping our docs come soon:goodvibes As far as packing, I only have my list made up already. I am going to go to bob's store this week-end to buy some shorts since someone on my family put on a little weight over the winter....who me:rolleyes1 ???? I did buy a bathing suit that was a very, very scary sight:scared1: .
My family this weekend will be picking out what they want to wear for the cruise. This will give me enough time to iron or send it out to get dry cleaned. I hate last minute stuff so packing will be done way a head of time:thumbsup2

Sorry Cheryl, I'm looking at the map of the ship. We are in a cat 11, we are probably stuck there. I just saw a post in the general section from someone who turned down a cat 9 on deck one because they prefer deck 6, so that's good.
thanks for the info.

Hey, that was me! I really stressed about that one!!! I couldn't even do anything about it until we set sail to see if anyone wanted to switch!! I was very happy they did:banana: !! I learnt my lesson on that one, pay the extra to get the deck you want!!! I really like 6, I hope you do, too!

Colleen

Hello to everyone!!:) Denise I'm right with you for the Bahama Mama!!! Can't Wait!!!

I got the Doc's today UPS 3-day. It can be delivered all day for those who haven't gotten them.

We got our document package today, too. :cool1: And yes, I have started packing. We have a spare room, so that has become "Vacation Central". The suitcases are all open on the floor - what a mess. It's no problem for us to set clothing aside since it's still very much WINTER here (snow again last night, Denise!). Nothing that's going in those suitcases is needed at home right now!

I am such a horrible packer - you know that old saying, pack what you think you need and then take a third of it out? Well I pack what I think we'll need and then add more and more and more. I ordered a new bathing suit for me from L.L.Bean last night - and bought all kinds of cute summery clothes for the girls last weekend. My husband has been very sick with the nasty flu that turned to pneumonia  - he missed a full week of work which is absolutley unheard of for him. He's feeling better this week, but I think he needs some nice sunshine to fully cure him. Vacation can't come too soon!

Lucky you , that you rec'd your docs. I booked through aaa and I am hoping they'll be here soon.

good for you that you have the spare room...I think I am going to have my dh put a card table in our bedroom for some more packing space.

Oh, your poor hubby  I hope he feels better real soon :) That flu bug is all over the place yuck. Make sure he takes it easy and doesn't get himself runned down and gets sicker, thats all you guys need. Yes, I think sunshine is what we all need right now:goodvibes .

today was sooo beautiful here on long island my car said 60 degrees can't imagine how nice its going to feel with the temps 20 or more degrees warmer in the caribbean.....ahhhh just dream:cool1:

Be careful when packing. Last Cruise one of my bags had the Cruise line tag ripped off. It was found and sent to meet us in Key West but, I learned a lesson. We now pack clothes for each of us in each bag. The cruise line bought me a $100 worth of clothes, which was nice, but not enough. My wife hates putting a few clothes in each bag for everyone. Its more work, packing and unpacking but, $100 didn't buy a whole lot for two days. If I remember correctly, I think the Ralph Lauren under ware they had was $25 for 3 pairs.

Just some additional info. Did everyone know that Disney has clothes on sale everyday in every store (on the cruise and the parks) You can ask for help and they will show you the list. Nice stuff, Cheap! :yay:

we do the same thing with packing thank goodness we never had a problem.
yes, its a pain in the butt to pack and unpack but at least if one of the pieces of luggage is missing at least you have extra clothes to wear:thumbsup2

I do the same thing, pack a bit of everyone's stuff in each suitcase. After having bags lost twice (yes, twice!) I learned the hard way. At least the lost bags were when we were going to WDW not on a cruise, but still......it's a pain.

Hi everyone

We just got our cruise docs today - how exciting! We also got assigned our 2nd cabin - room #2046. So both cabins are on the 2nd deck - mid ship and back of the ship. When do we find out our dinner rotation? Experienced cruisers - we have late dinner seating - are there diff't times for late dinner or just one?

Can't wait - a little over 3 week. YEAHHHHH!

Gail

Wish we had snow. Only one small storm here. We were supposed to go skiing in Vermont this weekend and decided not to-bad decision as they got a lot of snow.

I pack like you-adding things. Usually I don't worry too much, because I always figure I can run to the store-have been in lots of Kmarts and Walgreens. I feel like I will be stranded on the cruise.

Hope your husband is better and doesn't share .

We also received our cruise documents. :cheer2:
We are in cabin 5022, can you add that to the list please Gail. Thanks for all the great tips, information and entertainment... we look forward to meeting everyone soon.
Weather is warm here in California but looking forward to no work and lots of play.;)

Okay, no docs here in the midwest. I'm not worried yet but will start stressing soon. We never got our book that had the information on the excursions so I had to just read online. No big deal. I called and made sure they had our new address and they do. We've received other documents. When should I call to make sure they've been sent? Hopefully they'll be here soon.

Hey guys,

I'm hoping one of you can find this. I know I've seen it but I just can't find it right now. I know there's an emergency phone number I can give my family/friends in case they need to get ahold of me. But I can't find it right now. Anyone got an idea of what it is? Thanks!

Oh, and one more question. Folks recommend taking a color copy of your passport on excursions and leaving the real one in the safe. Why color? Why wouldn't a black and white work? Thanks!!!!

1-888-DC-AT-SEA or 1-888-322-8732 remember it is $7.00 a minute. You may want to bring your cell. I used my phone and my cell phone service charges $3.95 per min. Each cell service is different. If you turn you cell phone on or leave it on while we are at sea incoming messages will come through at the high rate so watch out! Usually in port the rates are lower so check before you leave what you cell phone service charges.

I have always left my passport in the safe. I never even brought a copy off the ship with me. Currently to get back on the ship adults need a picture ID and everyone will need their "Key to the World" card

I got half of our group documents today.

:flower3: Hi Everybody.

For all who didn´t get the docs-don´t worry. If you´ve done the Online Check-in your good to go.The Porters who take you luggage at the port have extra Tags for the luggage.Last cruise we didn´t get anything and it was no problem.
About the Dinning Rotation-I´m afraid we won´t find out until we get our KTTW cards, which stats the Rotation,Tablenr. and Time.

We just have to wait.I wanna know ours too.

Take care
Conny:flower3:

Gina,
I am sorry that you are feeling crappy.
