of course I didn't get my notification of this... but I'm so glad I checked tonight... I hope to be around in 25 minutes to chat away!

How did it go guys? Was it fun?

I am no where near a computer on Friday nights! I sit happily with drink in hand and Netflix Movie rolling destressing from the week.

This week, that scenario may have to happen earlier in the week after the day today in the markets! :scared1:

Last week was bad, this week is bound to be worse.

Did you all see the new prices for the 2010 cruises - yet again :scared1:

OMG! I have got to take this cruise in April because the price we paid is beginning to look like a bargain basement price in comparison to new pricing. :sad2:

OK - so stress relief photo number 2099:

Grand Cayman! :cool1:

I know I'm going to love this cruise... but this is obviously going to be a special treat... the cost is so much more than RCCL that if we do cruise again in the future, I'm sure it'll have to be another line and Disney would have to wait again as a special treat.

I just can't believe that this country is REALLY going to hel* in a handbasket... it just gets worse every day!

I'm so glad we secured our rate for the sailing, but also have our plane tickets (although I'm still waiting on something bad to happen with the flights)

It made me feel like I was right there walking in the surf. That felt good today!
:flower3:

I am not one to say "go DCL or go on no cruise!". I have been on better lines in terms of size, accomodations, etc., but I am swayed by the Disney product and this was evident in everything on board and especially the staff. That being said, we live fairly close to the port in NYC and NJ - no airfare, perfectly fine lines and cruise itinerarie....

On to our wonderful cruise that will be amazing:

I LOVE this picture!!! I sure needed to see this! Rough weekend, rough week at work so far and this economic "crud" is totally going over the top now! I can't wait for things to get back to some sort of normal soon!

Is anyone considering cancelling this cruise and booking one of the European Cruises in 2010?

(Just thought I would try and get some chatter going)

Maybe...my kids want to do Europe...go figure...but I NEED this vacation....:scared1:

no... I think my kids would kill me... they've been so looking forward to this one, and I'm afraid the prices will just keep going up and up and up... not to mention the airfare to get over there

So there are just a few of us that pipe up in here every so often so my question is:

To Fish "Extend" or not :flower3:

Do most cruisers put up Fish Extenders and trade gifts even though they did not log on to this DisBoard group for the trip.

Since I don't have an FE, I would need to make one or get one on eBay which is no problem but how many "gifts" should I plan on and what would be the appropriate percentage of kids gifts vs. adults? :confused3

follow-up silly question... I'm sure this was brought up earlier... but act like I'm dumb... what is a fish extender and what do we do with it? :lmao:

Not a silly question.

There are several messages on the subject and I probably can't explain what they are correctly...(try and paste one of the message threads) but basically is a "thing with pockets" that hangs from the fish outside the cabin door that other cruisers put gifts in (and you in turn put gifts in theirs) kind of like a secret santa.

(http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1976200) Hopefully this thread will explain what I am trying to say :upsidedow

Hi everyone, this will be my partner (Jeff) and my (Dale) fourth Disney cruise. We've done two four nights on the Wonder, one double-dip and the twelve night Medit. We also booked the 12 night Northern European cruise in June 2010.

This will be our first visit to Key West and Mexico -- I'm looking forward to the four elements excursion -- does anyone have any other recommendations for excursions?

welcome aboard...

Key West, I think we're just going to take the trolley tour around, get off at the southernmost point... do the Family Vacation-Chevy Chase Style quick pics and then head back towards the center of town to get some key lime pie... MH and I have done the trolley and this will be the kids first time, and other than getting to say they were at the southernmost point and eating key lime pie, I'm not sure if there is much more they'd want to do there.

Not sure about Grand Cayman yet...

Cozumel, we are looking at Playa Mia. Fun beach for us and the kids. When MH and I did a RCCL cruise this past year, we did Tulum and I thought it was awesome (although it was something like 100 degrees)... absolutely beautiful though.

If you scroll back through some of the previous pages, there are some discussions of other excursions....

For those interested I had asked about the trolley on a separate post.

Here is the link, but you will need to type it in.
My post count isnot high enought to paste a link yet :confused3

alot of good info. still don't know what we plan on doing.
Probable just walk around.
:joker:

Sorry I have been away from the thread for so long..... :upsidedow Life has been crazy - and not in a good way.
Seventy-five percent of those surveyed in a CNN/Opinion Research Corp. poll released Tuesday said things are going badly in the United States.
An equal portion of those polled said they are angry about the way things are going. Two-thirds of those questioned said they're scared about the way things are going and three in four said the current conditions in the country are stressing them out.
"It's scary how many Americans admit they are scared," said Keating Holland, CNN's polling director. "Americans tend to downplay the amount of fear they have when facing tough times. The fact that more than six in 10 say that they are scared shows how bad things are getting."

Well seems we need a new picture to ease our fear and anxiety:

Oh, and I just made my ADR for Chef Mickey's on Thursday night - the 16th! :cool1: :thumbsup2 :goodvibes

I will not be delaying this cruise for a 2010 cruise on DCL! I make a decent living.....for now, but I can not afford those prices!

As for this cruise, we actually are at about 90% a go for the cruise right now. Down from a 100% rating as we need to see what happens to the economy through December and January prior to final payment date.

I have Fish Extenders! So we would be in, and in a true testament to ridiculous overplanning, I ordered some stuff for an exhcange already - I had an order coming in from Oriental Trading and I added it to the order because some things were on sale that would be good and I was getting free shipping. That being said, we also don't have to do one. Its a lot of work for people. I ordered things that could be used for a Birthday party or FE exchange to hedge all bets.

:welcome: WELCOME EPCOTRULZ!!!! ( I agree by the way!) :welcome:

I totally can't believe that we are beyond 180 days!!!!! Only 90 more until we can make reservations!!!!!!! :jumping1: :rainbow:
