April 13, 2013 - Western Caribbean Fantasy Cruise

Thanks for the weather report, I figured April could be chancy with the rain. Great to hear that it didn't seem to impact your fun. The Chacchoben Ruins tour is one that we are interested in, so it's nice to hear that you enjoyed it. I'd love to do the Tulum ruins, but from what I've read the ferry journey & travel seems really rough.

Hey Brich - I was on the Dream last week and got the same mixed weather - but we just made the best of it! By chance did you keep the navigators? Can you scan and post?
It was hardly bad enough to ruin anything. :thumbsup2 I do have all the Navigators. Heck, we save everything  Did you want to see last weeks specifically or just some Fantasy Navigators? I can scan them probably this weekend...

I would highly recommend the Chacchoben Ruins tour. It was really cool. Even in the rain:cool2: As for Tulum, we were just talking about maybe doing that one this next trip... although we still love Mr Sancho's!! :woohoo:

Hi Everyone, I started a closed facebook group so we can all chat and get to know each other a bit before our cruise. The group name is Disney Fantasy April 2013 Please join and lets get ready for a great cruise
Hey Heidi, I sent a request to join the Facebook page!! May I suggest changing the name to read "Disney Fantasy April 13 2013"... May make it easier to keep it to just our cruise... Our Fantasy Facebook page for our trip last week is still proving to be fun and informative... Soooo looking forward to doing this all again :yay:

That is great to hear! I'm very excited about seeing the ruins at Chacchoben. So what's Mr. Sancho's? Did you do that on your own?

Mr Sancho's is a beach resort that you do on your own. It's a 20 minute taxi ride from port (really, really easy to do). Basically a private beach with food and bars.

They have 2 sections, one is a pay as you go area, the other is an all-inclusive. We did the all-inclusive which only includes food and drink. They gave us a covered table right on the beach next to some lounge chairs and continuously brought us food and drinks.

The drinks were actually pretty good with just the right amount of alcohol. The kids had fruity drinks and nachos and tacos and my wife and I had frozen drinks pretty much all day and nachos, coconut shrimp and fajitas. The food was pretty good.

The beach is nice with a section with climb on water toys, which my kids loved. There is a $12 additional fee for use of the toys but well worth it for my kids.

I found out about it searching on these boards, then researched reviews on web a bit more. Reserved it online and then took a taxi when we got off the ship. Pretty easy. It's a cheesy sort of place at first with corny Mexican decorations out front, the usual pushy vendors as you walk in and the pictures for a fee with parrots and a big iguana but once you get past that, it's a very relaxing, enjoyable day at the beach. I really think we'll end up here again.

Wow, sounds like a blast. I'll have to do some investigating by searching the threads. Thanks for the head's up and wonderful description. I love free food and drinks

I love free food and drinks
You sound like my kids :lmao:... You do pay a fee ahead of time but it does feel like free food and drinks after a while... Just like on the cruise when my kids would eat or get a drink or ice cream, they would be like, I love free food... Little do they know... lol

next you'll be telling me that buying shoes on sale isn't SAVING money :rotfl:

We've had this trip booked for a while, but just secured it by paying it off!

We would love to join the FE swap. I agree in keeping the groups to a manageable level--15 sounds perfect!!

gfolchick-we cruised the Dream with you in August 2011. I think we may have even met each other.

It will be me (38-turning 39 on the cruise), DH43, DS13 & DD10.

Looking forward to chatting with all of you and preparing for a great cruise!

We are! My mother in law just put the deposit down. It will be her, me, and my 6 year old DD. We sailed on the Dream last May, and had a blast!

Hello Fellow Cruisers,
We are booked too! DH, DD16, DS 13 and myself. My parents are also cruising with us so 3 cabins. We are interested in the FE too.

This will be our 8th Disney cruise. Looking forward to a full week on the Fantasy :) Sailed the Dream in August but 5 days was too short.

Yeah welcome aboard the fish extender list is on page two of this board we look forward to meeting all of you

OK Happy Fantasy Cruisers we have a fish extender document. Lets start putting down our information and get this ball rolling. Yeah us we are going to have the best FE yet. Look forward to everyone signing up. See you all in about a year.

Seems like everyone so far wants to keep this manageable so we will cap the FE list at 15 cabins and if need be I will start another list. If we need to start a second list you can sign up for both if you wish or just stay on the first one. Lots of great people are posting on the boards already we are all going to have one rocking cruise. If anyone has any great idea for graphics or logos for our cruise please chime in, the more the merrier. Hope everyone is having a fantastic time in the early planning stages.:cloud9:

Yay! 15 sounds perfect. Does anyone know whether there are any issues with FE and concierge rooms? My understanding is that the Fantasy doesn't have the gate issue of the Dream, right? We are in concierge this trip and want to make sure it will still work for us to participate...

It is Brian, i think Jason and his wife also booked the same one next year. Had such a good time on the first one and cant wait to use what I've learned on the second one. Will join the Facebook group next time I'm on.:woohoo:
