April 13, 2013 - Western Caribbean Fantasy Cruise

Did you have much difficulty choosing port excursions since you were first time cruisers? We will be first timers also (on a later Fantasy sailing) and am wondering how that worked out for you. Thanks!

Since we were among the last group to be able to book the exursions (those who have cruised with DCL in the past get to book earlier than first-timers), some of our first choices were full. However, I think we have made some great choices!! Went with one non-Disney  excursion in Costa Maya.

We cruise one month from today!! :cheer2: I'll be sure to let you know how it all goes!! Good luck with planning -- that's a lot of the fun, too!!

For the group t-shirts, do you send VistaPrint a template of some kind?

Yes. If you want to use one of the templates in post #256, just save it to your computer, and then you can upload it on the Vistaprint site.

We are also first time cruisers! I was also worried about booking excursions, but I went online right at midnight (:surfweb:) 75 days before the cruise, and found that I was able to get just about all of my first choices (except for getting a cabana at Castaway Cay - they were totally booked!). I wasn't able to book Brunch at Palo either (which was highly recommended), but we still got a decent dinner reservation time. Good luck!

Welcome to all new comers. Come join us on our Facebook page 'Disney Fantasy April 13, 2013' . Getting closer now and cant wait to meet you all.:cool1:

If you booked the mayan trip with natives choice you made the right decision.
We took it in September and it hands down was the best.

In cozumel we took a cab to paradise beach. I have to say it was amazing.

Stopping by to say hi. We have not checked the boards in a while. Phenway maybe we will see you on the boat. I am hoping we will still get to go hubby has been home for weeks. He hurt his back one Sunday a few weeks back doing nothing and has not been working or for that matter up to much activity. If things don't get better I figure I have two options cancel out the trip or go and cancel out the shore excursions. Life has a funny way of slowing people down doesn't it? It took 3 major life illnesses in our family for me to slow down. Wishing everyone a wonderful week.

My sympathies! :grouphug: We don't have excursions booked as car repairs, upper respitory infections etc have prevailed since Christmas. I have a 'mom' job with no paid sick days or vacations. My boys and I have decided to enjoy the ship since this is our last Disney Cruise anyway. (College looming)

I am going to do the tastings and Palo. We are going to see the comedians, play the family game, family kareoke, things we normally blow off. (ie, see the shows. popcorn::)

I hope your husband feels better. Back pain is the worst! And cancelling a cruise after the payment date is a pain, even with a medical reason and travel insurance. My mom's going through it as my father developed memory issues and she didn't feel comfortable going back in October. She still doesn't have the money back.

Anyway, it sounds like you need a break!:beach:

Add my sympathies, too. Hope your DH's back improves and you don't end up having to cancel the cruise.:( Canceling the shore excursions definitely sounds like a better option if you can make that work. There's so much to do on the ship and it would be lovely to have it to yourselves!

I'm so excited about my fish extender gifts! I started making some tonight! Hope everyone in our group likes them!

Hi All!

I'm fairly new to the DIS boards, and just discovered this group (I just sent a request to join the facebook group too).

My DH and I will be traveling with my mother-in-law, and our two sons, ages 6 and 4. Anyone else with kids these ages? We can't wait! Getting close now!!

party: HAPPY SPRING EVERYONE! party:

Yea! The beginning of the end to this long winter! Woohoo!

Has anyone else still not gotten their cruise docs yet? We are still waiting. So I was curious if there was anyone else out there still waiting. If not, then I'm going to give them a call to find out!

Everyone should have gotten their docs already.

Don't forget to check in online on the DCL website and print out your agreement!

Ashley, did you book recently as in after the final payment date? Cause that throws DCL into a tizzy.

I booked a year ago. No one in our group has received theirs yet. They have everything they need from us too. Guess it's time to make a phone call!

I am in your FE group. How old is your son? You only put "child" but I want to make sure the gifts are age- appropriate. Thanks!
