Apps and Drinks only at California Grill?

I want to experience this restaurant and the view, but DH and I will only be ordering a couple of apps and drinks; we simply don't want to drop $100 on dinner (DH has simple tastes, anyway). Can anyone who has done this share their experience? Thanks!

I never order anything there except sushi and flatbreads. If you are asking if it is acceptable to do so, yes, it's perfectly acceptable. Just be aware that if you add wine or other alcoholic beverages you can easily drop $100 even if you only order sushi and flatbreads.

How are the appetizer portions at California Grill? If DH and I go there and order 2 flatbreads and a salad to split, plus dessert, do you think that would be enough food? We are not normally huge eaters (we watch what we eat, in particular our portions, at home everyday), and it would be nice to experience the view at CG without it costing a fortune. The boys would be happy with pizza or mac and cheese there and both are very reasonably priced.

You will likely spend $100 just on that. We ordered sushi, salad, and soup plus 3 non alcoholic drinks and it was over $100.

We sat at a table and treated those as our meal. My mom has gone there in the past to just have dessert and drinks and was denied a table when the hostess learned they did not want a full meal. They were told to sit in the lounge.

My wife and I do so often. We'll sit at the bar or sushi counter for a few hours and really have a good time talking with the waiters or others. We do spend more than $100.
