When we took the 7 night cruise in 2002, we knew we needed to bring jacket and tie for myself and a nice dresses for my wife and teenage daughter.

This year we are taking thge 3N cruise. Do I need to pack the jacket/tie for the short cruise? As I understand it, there is no "formal" night. I was thinking of just good slacks and polo shirts/regular shirts for dinners for myself and nice outfits for my women, but nothing fancy. Would that be inappropriate?

Thanks for the advice....

There is a "Captains Night" on the 3 night. I wore a party dress, not as fancy as a cocktail dress, but better than work/church. Most men were wearing ties and jackets, but it was early December and the ship was decorated for Christmas. I think you will be fine with out the jacket, because it is a more casual cruise. Being overdressed, however, is always better than being undredressed, IMHO. And you know a lot of us girls like to get all dolled up.

On a 3 night cruise, the dress is much more relaxed than a 7 night cruise. My DH wore dockers and a collared shirt all 3 nights. It depends on your comfort level. Some people want to dress, others do not.

I wore navy blazer with dockers and shirt/tie at Tritons and polo shirts the other two nights.

My guess is that no more than half the guys at Tritons were wearing jacket/tie (we were there the first night) and fewer than that in Parrot Cay and Animator's Palate.

Hubby took a jacket and daughter and I took a nice dress (not fancy) because we planned on eating at Palo one night.

Other than that, if you aren't eating at Palo, just capris/top, khakis and a polo for hubby will do just fine.

Have fun!
