Applying Room Rate to Existing Ressie!

This question is for all the experienced Disney Vets out there. I booked a ressie for the Poly 1/20 to 1/23 for two rooms at rack rate. That is a tough number to swallow. Anyway, since my ressie dates are not in a black out time frame. Tomorrow when the room only code comes out, can I just apply that discount to my existing reservation?

I am really disappointed I am an AP passholder and could not use the discount from it for my trip. I really wanted the Contemp, Poly or GF for that time period and nothing was available. So I had to book a rack rate. Is it possible more rooms will be opened up?

You cannot apply a discount code to an existing reservation. You need to book a new reservation using the discount code and then cancel the old reservation. However, the deposit that you put down for the old reservation will be applied to the new reservation.

Make sure to ask them to apply your exisitng deposit. When I did this, in the same day's mail I got a notice that thay had refunded my initial deposit, and then another notice asking for a new deposit!

I just called and applied the AP code to my existing reservation. At least that's what the CM said she was doing. Maybe on her screen she booked with the code and then cancelled the original ressie, but as far as I was concerned she just applied the discount.

I had an existing reservation at Beach Club....she just applied the discount...I have not paid my down payment yet....it's on a 14-day hold just in case something opens up the week I'd really like to go. They will apply it to your reservation only if there are qualifying rooms available...so what they end up doing is "rewriting" your reservation to the new discounted room. The other room automatically gets cancelled...or atleast you should verbally confirm that.

Also...many folks reserve rooms then cancel them...I would say you could call every couple of days to see if a discounted room at Poly opens up...especially for those dates I don't think you'll have a problem getting one at a discount.
