Applying room only discount to exsisting reservation at the Beach Club???

Hi,

We are booked at the Beach club in a standard view for 11/29/15-12/4/15. It looks like when the room only discounts are released for our dates it probably will only be for 20% off. When the sale comes out there is usually no standard view rooms left. Will they apply it to my reservation if there are no standard view rooms available? Or, will I have to pay rack rate for it, switch room category to a more expensive one or just switch hotels???

You'll have to switch to a category of room at BC that is included in the discount and has availability. Or switch to another resort and room category that is included in the discount and has availability.

That's why you actually hurt yourself by booking ahead of time. If standard rooms are full, there's no reason to offer a promo. People will advise to book it and then "apply" it when the promo comes out, it's not that easy.

Booking a room in advance will not guarantee that any promo can be applied to it. When the room rate discount or any special comes out you will have to call to have it applied, provided your room category is included and there is still availability in that category. If not, they will not apply it to your current reservation so you will either have to pay the rate you currently hold, switch room category/resort/dates or wait for another special to be released.

Exactly!! Disney issues discounts to fill unsold rooms. If a room category or resort is already fully or nearly fully booked at rack rate, they have no reason to discount it.

And I don't think it looks good for those dates to be included in an future room only discount either. They are excluded from the room only bounceback that has been offered since last November.

I suspect the ongoing room renovations are limiting the discounts available at the Beach Club.

We missed out as well, but ensuring we had a booking was more important to us (coming from Oz) than securing a discount....only just

I was able to snag a RO discount on a Garden View room this morning. Had BW booked yesterday (because BC/YC weren't avail). Don't give up, keep trying.
