Applying discounts to new vacation packages?

I know that when discount codes come out these can currently be applied to existing bookings (if there is availability) but does anyone know if this will work with the new packages due to be released in a few weeks?

I would be keen to take advantage of the new meal plan for our stay (which looks liike a bit of a bargain) but wouldn;t be so keen if this could only be added to rooms booked at rack rates....

Could discounts be added to the old silver and gold plans when they were released or can discounts only be applied to room only bookings?

I thought that the meal plan looked like a bargain until I saw that the only table service restaurants included are outside of the park. Am I missing something? I can't imagine having to go to a resort everytime I wanted to eat dinner.

You must not have read all the pages, there are plenty of in park table options

I usually buy APs to get two uses out of them, but I'm guessing you can't just purchase the meal plan without a pkg... I will need to make a decision since DD2 will need a pass this time around if we go in Oct (her b'day is 9/30), but I didn't want to take the "hurricane" chance.

For some reason the first time I looked only the first page loaded. Now that I see all the choices, it does look like a great deal. I thought I must be doing something wrong when I only saw resort hotels offering the plan.

That is correct, you can only add on the meal plan when staying onsite at a Disney owned hotel.
