Applying banked points to a pre-existing reservation?

I have a question about adding a resale contract that includes banked points. Assuming I have a pre-existing 2024 reservation (made within the home resort booking window). If I add a new resale contract (same resort and UY) that includes '23 points banked into '24, will I be able to apply the banked points against the reservation and free up some of the current year points that were to be used (assuming this all happens more than one month before the reservation)?

If I understand your question correctly, I believe you can contact MS and have them do this for you. It would be a smart way to use your points. If the home resorts are different, you'll need to wait until 7 months out to do it, but it sounds like you already know that!

Yes,, you can reallocate the banked points into the reservation. The only piece to be aware of is that when doing such reallocation, it has to be done at least 31 days in advance of the reservation so that the freed up points are not put into holding.

It certainly doesn't sound like it would be in this case, but just for others and future reference. It is just not automatic so you have to do it yourself...and modify without changing going all the way to the end, making sure both contracts are checked and rebooking or call/chat with MS and ask them to do it for you!

And it has to be under the same membership number (ie your new contract has to have the same use year, and be titled exactly the same) Reservation can not be split between different membership numbers.
