Does anyone know if I can apply the one day base MYW park ticket I need to buy in order to get the free dining package to a future pass? (I have an annual pass and so won't be using the MYW ticket on this trip.) I was told I couldn't do this by reservations, but I thought I'd heard that others had done it.

I'd love to be able to apply the ticket price to a future annual pass, but I'd also be willing to apply it to a future 10 day no expiration ticket for a future family vacation. I just don't want to waste it.

At this rate I may be better off on this trip trying for an annual passholders discount and just paying out of pocket for the DDP.

Thanks!

We are also pass holders and last Dec. when we bought the dining plan we were told by a CM we could apply the one day ticket to the cost of renewing our annual pass. I sure hope we can:goodvibes We had to buy four, it is my understanding you can apply a one day pass per each annual pass you purchase. I hope that is not too confusing, it confused me riting it:rotfl:

I haven't applied it to an AP but I did apply it to a FL resident 3-day pass. There was no problem when I did it so I don't see why you couldn't apply it to another ticket type

Thanks for the answers - much better than the original information I got.

Now, a wrinkle. We are going in Sept, with our current annual passes expiring just after that trip. We won't go again until Feb, 2008. Would I have to apply the base ticket to an immediate annual pass renewal, or could I use it to somehow purchase a voucher that I could activate in Feb?

Thanks again!!!

You'll have the one day pass on your room key .. you can leave it there.. or have it swiped off to regular ticket media for use in February when you renew your passes.

You do NOT have to renew your passes on that trip in order to do this.

Hope this helps!

I think an AP is only renewable 30 days before the current one expires.

I have been told many different things regarding the 1 day base ticket purchased with a free dining package. But last year when I checked in, I was told they are non refundable and non transferable. When I explained I was told I could get it refunded. The manager at the Poly told me that while they did refund 1 day base tickets the year before they were not supposed to and they were cracking down on it. So I asked about adding no expiration to the 1 day base ticket. That way I could use it at a later day to upgrade to an AP or a multi day hopper ticket. But you can't do no expiration on a one day ticket :(.

This year we have the 40% off package and did 1 day base tickets since my son and I are renewing our AP's in June. With our June trip it worked out best to do the AP's even if we have to eat the cost of the 1 day tickets. I think going with ap's and eating the cost of 1 day tickets cost me about $50 more than doing a 5 and 7 day hopper. Of course when I check in Sept I'll ask about refunding those 1 day base tickets. Heck they can even put it on a disney gift card if they don't want to refund it! :) Hey it never hurts to ask right? :)

Maybe the best way to do it is buy 2 day no expiration tickets then use that later as a credit to upgrade to other options.

Wouldn't it expire 14 days after your package is activated? If not I won't bother with checking on a refund Ill just do as you suggested.

ONE DAY TICKETS DO NOT EXPIRE. Why? Tickets expire 14 days from first use. If you use a one day ticket, it's gone anyway. If you don't use it, the 'first use' hasn't happened yet, so it can't expire. So you don't have to worry about that. That's why there is no 'no expire' option. There's no point.

For the other poster, they cannot refund those 1 day tickets or give you a gift card for the amount. HOWEVER, if you have NOT yet purchased your AP's, you can apply a single one day ticket for each new AP you purchase.

Or you can save them for next year and use them if you purchase new AP's again. And yes, AP's must be renewed with in a time frame. If you don't renew within that time frame, you pay the full rate instead of the renewal rate. That may be worth doing depending on when you want to make your subsequent trips.

Hope this info helps! ;)

I used a one day base ticket towards an AP renewal nearly a year after I was on the package.

The 1 day base tickets never expire, as they've not been used. I fyou had a 7 day base ticket that was never used, it wouldn't expire either.

Wow thanks for the information. I sure wish the manager at the Poly would have known this! :) I wonder if I can call the Poly or Guest Services and tell them I had 1 one day ticktes that were never used and see if they can research and replace these tickets? Guess it wouldnt hurt to try. It won't help me this ap seeing I already renewed but at least I know I won't have to eat the cost of the 1 day tickets on our reservations in Sept.

Thanks!

Actually.. if they can find your reservation.. odds are they can find your tickets still in the system.

This might be something better done when you are on-site rather than trying to do it on the phone. I'm guessing..

Hijacking...Okay, here's my question: We initially planned an 8-day stay at POFQ in October. Booked a package with DDP. A month ago my parents asked if my son and I would like to go with them in June. My son is definitely going-I am still trying to decide if I can get away for a week in June. Anyway, I called and switched our 8-day park hoppers to 1-day base tickets on our October package and purchased an AP for my son. If I do not go in June, I am planning on adding a 7-day park hopper to my husband's 1-day base ticket and upgrading to an AP for myself. Is this possible? (Planning a surprise trip in January for DS and myself and will probably visit again in early May 2008.). Thanks!

RunswithScissors:

I see no problems with what you described.

You'll use your one day base ticket to upgrade to your AP, your husband will use his one day base ticket to upgrade to a 7 day park hopper and you will have one left over to save.

Sound about right?
