Appliance Painting

Has anyone ever painted an appliance? More specifically, a white refrigerator. We have two refrigerators and a large freezer, in perfect working order. So, keeping a budget mind, I cannot just go buy another refrigerator just because I want it to be black. I've read a bit online about how to do it and what paint to use, but I want to know from people here who have actually done it. How did it turn out? Does it look good? Was it difficult to do? Does it look "legit"...like a black refrigerator you would purchase at an appliance store?

Any feedback would be helpful. All our other appliances are black...stove, cook top, microwave...it's just the white refrigerator that is driving me mad.

Let me know if you have experience with painting a refrigerator and how yours came out. Thanks.

My parents painted their refrigerator about 10 years ago. It was a lovely shade of turquoise blue :lmao:. Since it still worked perfectly, they couldn't see replacing just because it didn't match the renovated kitchen. It turned out great -- couldn't even tell it had ever been a different color! As long as you use paint that is specifically for appliances, you should be fine.

They might sell some type of spray paint you can use, maybe sure its good on metal. i wouldnt us house paint tho

I think it could work if you buy a paint that's specifically for that purpose. I'd search on line for tips on how other people have done it successfully.
