Apple tv

Was just looking around to see if I could connect an iPad to the tv wirelessly and found that apple tv can do this
Any one any info on this

We have Apple TV and use it to watch and listen to things on my ipad and iphone on the TV. Plus we use it to watch things downloaded or photos stored on our PC. It is easy to do, there is an extra icon on my iphone and ipad now which I just press to have things on the TV instead.
