I just got it yesterday and set it up today. So much better than using my Wii for Netflix. And my photos on a 42" tv screen????? OMG.

We have 2. One in the living room and then we needed one for the bedroom. They're brilliant. I have an iPod touch that is loaded with my movies. I love that I can take all my movies to whichever room I want and just shoot them to it.
And a good YouTube of illuminations played on a big tv is always nice to enjoy as well. :)

I have to admit, I had my doubts and was really leaning towards Roku. Then my wife picked up the AppleTV for my birthday so I figured I'd give it a chance. I love it! I have a TiVo(which I love), but this is much smoother and I believe the picture is better using Netflix. Add in my iPad and it becomes a slam dunk. Not to mention the rumors floating regarding possible big things in the future with Apple and TV.

Two here as well, plus my Roku gets a ton use as well.

We have been looking into this but didn't know anyone who has one ! Sounds like it is a no brainer now thanks!!!! Gonna pick on up this weekend!!!

It doesn't stream Amazon though, does it? If they fix that I will pick one up in a heartbeat. Until then I stick to Roku.

we love ours. wdw YOUTUBE VIDEOS on our tv!

Yes... Don't forget to subscribe to The Dis on YouTube -the cast has done an unbelievable job IMO! It's nice to just be able to queue up an episode or watch something from the Park Bench Series.

It does not, which would be nice since we have Prime -but it wasn't a deal breaker for me. Not sure if we will ever see Amazon on AppleTV since Amazon is developing their own device to compete with all the others.

Can you tell me why it is better than using the Wii, which is what we do currently? I've thought about getting it but couldn't see what we would use it for that we can't already do another way. I'm happy to spend the $99 if we'd get use out of it.

I don't own a wii, but I have a TiVo and I'm pretty sure the AppleTV has a much smoother interface. The other, possibly more important issue, is that wii will only provide 480p(I believe) on Netflix while AppleTV as 1080i. I picked up on the quality difference right away.

Loving my Two Chromecasts. The YouTube "Appdial" streaming is AMAZING! Plus, Netflix at true 1080p. Waiting for Tuesday to see how Livestream works from a Chrome Tab.

Gan is right, the 1080i is so much better. Wii uses composite cable which can't handle hi def.

So other than the HD capability, what do you use the Apple TV for exactly? I'm really not clear on what it would allow me to do.

Where the Apple TV really shines, in my opinion, is the ability to use Airplay. Airplay let you mirror your iPad, iPhone, or Mac computer's screen to the Television. Thus you can watch any movie or app on the big screen wirelessly.

I know of a few schools and businesses that use Apple TVs in classrooms and conference rooms for just that functionality.
