Your own weight and the model
scooter you get will determine more on how well the scooter will work then anything else. If you try to use a light weight scooter for a heavier person you are more than likely exceeding the maximum weight capacity of the scooter which will lead to very short battery cycles.
Another important consideration is the amount of time you spend at the park. The longer the day the more you need a stronger, more heavy duty scooter. There are 2 battery scooters and they are designed to go for longer lengths of time. Then your own due diligence will make a difference with how long your scooter will last. You need to shut off the scooter when doing a show, parade or fireworks, for example.
Now, tillers can go bad on a scooter, as well as, batteries and then this becomes more of a mechanical problem. In this case, you are bound to have issues with the scooter. No vendor can really guarantee there won't be failure in these areas.
The best scenario is getting a newer scooter from a vendor. How well you can accomplish this in my opinion is not so likely.
I would bring the charger to the park for an emergency charge.
I know this isn't exactly what you asked, but there are many considerations as to why a scooter may fail you.
