Wow so much more $$ than say your local store

Really?

We went a few weeks ago and paid $4.75 for a half bushel.

but they look at you kinda funny if you bring a big bucket to the supermarket to pick your apples

I am not suprised. We went to the pumpkin patch the other day..$4 per person for the hayride to pick your pumpkin (that I understood) but the pumpkins were 59 cents a lb!!! So a medium sized pumpkin is about $8. :scared1: They are $4.98, any size, at Walmart!

but you can eat as many as you want when you pick them.

I went apple picking a few weeks ago and spent $75.00. I had enough apples to make three pies, thats it. I also got some peaches but only enough to make to one cobbler. It was fun but I don't think I will be doing that any time soon.

is better than nose picking.

Here I was thinking that picking your own apples would be cheaper.. :(

And every time I see the word "apple" on the DIS, I want to bake something!!:lmao:

We went apple picking a couple weeks ago and bought $37 dollars worth. I have made 9 pies, eaten tons, made some apple sauce and still have some left over. If you bought $75 and made 3 pies, you got hosed. Sorry.

We just went. $18 for 21 lbs of apples. They said that's 7 pies worth, but I have no idea about that. I buy the pies they sell there with the caramel sauce... yum... and apple fritters, apple donuts...

We picked a peck of apples for about $12-$15 (I forget the exact price). The apples were great--very fresh and crisp!
