I'm excited! I've been waiting for Apple to release the iPhone 6 to upgrade my phone. Even better news for Disney visitor that use Apple iPhone/pay is that what you have to carry into the parks has gotten lighter. Yes, Magic Bands are great for those who have them, but this takes paying at the parks (or anywhere) to a new level!!!

Hey do you have a link to the story? I'm pretty curious about this. Thanks!

A few problems that I see. Not everyone has an iPhone, let alone an iPhone 6. And the most important, Apple Pay does not work with Discover or Diner's Club. iphone small and lighter than band?? I think not! :confused3

I think OP meant people who are staying off site and won't have Magic Bands.

Agreed that right now it won't work will all cards, but eventually it will very likely happen. I'm just looking at it from the perspective of someone who does have an iPhone (or will have an iPhone 6). I carry my phone in the parks, now I can go more places with fewer items. I also agree that it's not lighter than the Magic Band, but not everyone has those either.

A Phone lighter than the Magic Band? You're right, probably not...

But what about a watch?

Interestingly, the iWatch already has a Starwood Hotels app where you can use your phone to unlock your hotel room. Sound familiar?

And my final opinion on this matter, if Apple Pay is actually using NFC technology, all owners of iPhones prior to iPhone 6 are out of luck! Most all Android based smart phones have NFC, and have for years. Why is Apple neglecting this VERY LARGE part of the market?

Given what I heard on the keynote address today I'd wager the AppleWatch will be an option for guests instead of Magic Bands next year.

That wouldn't surprise me in the least! Did you see the Apple Watch with Mickey? That alone was enough for me to want one of the watches. Sadly though I highly doubt that I'll get this watch any time soon.

Gonna take more than a mickey for me to get an iPhone6
