Apparently Nov8th-nov14th is bad for night entertainment.

So am I wrong in saying that this week is going to be bad at night. 4 Xmas parties. Xmas parade taping means no castle projection show that week. No fireworks shows at HS all week. That's what it seems like from everything I've read. Can anyone shed some light on to it?

Star Wars Fireworks are on certain days during that time. I'm still trying to figure out why the new Castle projection show is only on certain days.

MK has parties Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Sunday you will be able to see Wishes on Wednesday, Saturday and Monday. The Frozen Holiday Wish will be done on Monday 14th at 6:30 and the new projection show at 9:45pm
DHS Star Wars A Galactic Spectacular will be performed 9th,11th and 12th. Jingle Bell Jingle BAM premieres on the 14th
Epcot Illuminations every night
AK: Tree of Life Awakening every night at nightfall
Basically the only thing you are missing because of the taping is Once Upon a Time on non party nights

We will be there from the 11th - 21st....Never been this time of the year so all this Xmas stuff is new to me! We have always went in September!

We were at the MK last year on a taping day. They had a huge line for the dressed "people" in the audience for the taping, and they did look cute. They were, of course, let in before us. It was crowded around the hub, and you couldn't get to the taping area in front of the castle, as it's all set up for their tv special.
That being said, we did not notice any problems with being there while they were taping the Christmas Special/parade.
The amount of parties at MK were a pain , though. One evening we went there, forgetting about another party night, and a huge amount of party people were let into the MK at 4pm. We could not get onto any rides we wanted without a huge wait, and it was really crowded. We fought our way out of the park, and didn't try to do that again on party night. This won't be a popular opinion, so don't flame me I think that on party nights, the party should start when it is stated, 7PM, and no early entry at 4pm. Those of us who pay for a day at MK get short changed when everyone is let in early.
Just my thoughts, from the other point of view, so no upset party people too. I know you paid for the party and it is allowed to enter at 4pm , not your fault, but I just wish Disney would stick to the stated official party times of 7pm until? Just my 2 cents. Peace

Just to note, this year they are not filming the parade in WDW, it's just performers and I think only 1 is suppose to be at MK and the rest scattered around. It's possible they are reserving the dates for weather problems and if they film it the first night, the other 2 nights will go back to normal.. But it's also 3 specials they are filming for and not just the 1 xmas morning show so who knows how long they will actually be filming for.. kind of new territory here.

It's been confirmed that taping will take place during the day in MK on the 11th.

@rteetz has confirmed The Descendants are taping in MK along with some WDW characters.

I don't understand why not? They let them in at 4pm and don't seem tohave a problem. It's like any opening time, I would think. And the parties don't let as many people in as opening crowds.

We'll be at the MK on Monday Nov. 14th to see Wishes at 9 and the projection show at 9:45 p.m. (for park touring and attractions looks like we'll get everything done between 9 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. that we went to do). Party nights, our plans not to do a party, but DS wanting to see wishes and the projection show is why we're doing the MK this particular day on our short visit. // I have in the past always avoided days with extra magic morning hours when we are offsite visitors, but it's not working for this trip. On the other hand this is our first visit where we are not tied to a school schedule, crowds are projected to be moderate, and waits as estimated / projected by touringplans.com don't look bad at all (and I have three fast passes too). My one long wait appears to be 49 minutes for 7DMT, but we can live with that especially since waits for everything else that we are doing look like they will be pretty short.

Bad is a relative term. More crowded than you would like - maybe, more limited in what day you can pick to see certain things, yes. // But for someone like me who has done lots of week before Christmas weeks, Christmas weeks, and popular spring break weeks, despite all the parties and non-party days having heavier crowds at the MK, crowds I expect will be way more moderate that what we have usually had for Disney visits.
