...because English visitors pay more to stay there than if you booked in any other country?

Mind - this info did come from my hubby, so could be complete nonsense, he has told me things he has dreamt before as fact! Then took ages to convince that there were no alligators in the back yard (seriously) etc! :rolleyes1

Well he didn't dream this one lol Yeh at the end of this weeks watchdog they said that next week they are investigating the UK disney site as we seem to get charged more for our hols their than other countries. Interesting.

p.s Just a small point but it isn't just English visitors as we Scots, Irish and Welsh also use the uk site :P

:rolleyes2 :rolleyes1:rolleyes1:rolleyes1

Yes us irish visitors get charged much more usually than english guest ..... We unaffectionately call this the "paddy-tax".... It seems unfair that they have price differences between countries,

..... and yet lots of folk from other countries (including some of our members here) book using the UK version of the DLP site because its much cheaper than their own country's one. I'd be taking the watchdog report with a big pinch of salt I think - unless everyone who has complained to watchdog has paid full brochure price of course :confused3.

:lmao:

You only have to look at your booking Rose to see how laughable this is to me :rotfl2:

£900 (1082€) on the UK site

and

1368€ (£1137) on the French site

:rotfl:

I'm Italian and we don't usually get the same discounts you get on the UK DLRP website so i think Watchdog is wrong this time.

Eg. at the moment offers for booking in advance for the summer just go up to 20% in certain dates and never heard of a 40% discount here :sad2:

It was in the Daily Mirror weeks ago apparently (don't read it, read it on another forum), SO, it must be true  :rolleyes1...

Ooooh I'll be sky plusing this!
Noticed some big differences alright. Wonder will there be a spokesperson from DLP...

From what I've seen and read about, Disney just have different marketing strategies for different countries at different times so, as above, prices might be higher in France for certain dates/hotels and but then lower for others. Apparently though, if you can quote a lower price from a different country's website they have to honour it, which I think is worth knowing!
