I was all set to book RPR at 179 water view for 8/9 to 8/11 and purchase an AP for 119.95 on the website to show when I checked in. I was thinking this would be a good way to get a better rate and buy the 99.95 tix for the other 3 in my family. But when I looked at the complete rules for buying the 2 park power pass it says that no hotel discounts will apply! Blackout dates would not apply for when we are going. Do I have to buy the PAP for 179?
Will they check this? Anyone else notice this fine print?
Thanks for your help. :confused3

That's the way it is supposed to be - hotel discounts only with the PAP. That said, in all the times I have checked in, they have never asked to see the card. But I would be really nervous taking the chance to check in with only the power pass. If they ask, and you don't have a PAP, you could very well end up paying rack rate for your stay - yikes.

The PAP isn't so bad when you consider all the discounts you get with it. We have saved a ton with the 20% off the souvenirs and the 15% of the restaurants.

The only down side with having the PAPS - our yearly trips have now multipled to 3 or 4 times per year. We are definitely getting our use out of the things.

It is not a secret that only the PAP's give the discounts. That is why it is cheaper. If you go through the details and the website, it is all clearly laid out. We have definitely saved a lot of money with our PAP's. We got the buy one year, get one year free and have gone down 4 times from Canada in the past two years.

I have to amend my statement. DH reminded me that on our last trip in December they actually did ask to see the AP. Totally forgot about that. So, perhaps they are asking for them now?

We were asked to show the PAP upon checkin @ HRH in Feb. As I still had to go to Guest Services to get one (upgrade an unused multi-day ticket) I said I'd bring it by the front desk after we returned from the park. When I returned to produce it, they said they didn't need to see it afterall!

It will pay for itself on a multi day stay with the food & merchandise discounts. You are aware that you should book the room first (to make sure they're still available for the time period you're interested in...the discount is a capacity controlled factor).

I have only been asked to show my PAP once and that was at RPR earlier this year. For the most part they really don't ask to see it but it would be awful if they did and you had to pay rack.

I bought the pass just in case. They didn't ask to see it at check in, so I still have an unused pass which was never activated at the gate.
If anyone wants to buy it let me know!
Thanks

shl1108 - Just a question, didn't you use the annual pass for your entrance to the parks?

No, I didn't use it.

I had bought other tickets to use previously and bought the AP pass afterward for the hotel discount. When they didn't ask for the AP pass at check in, I didn't use it. (we live across the country in Seattle and weren't planning to go back to FLA in the next year)
