I have been trying to get an AP7 rate for our trip in October. I had already made reservations at DLH for Oct 17-21 @$275/night for upper level DTD view. Our air tickets are purchased. When I called the first day of the AP7 sale, DLH was not available at the AP7 rates for our dates. I followed the advice given on the AP7 thread and kept calling back. At first, all I could get was the PPH for our dates. We really would prefer DLH or GCH so I kept calling. Well, one CM managed to get me the same type room at DLH that we already have reserved for $189/night. The catch is that the dates are Oct 16-19. We won't be coming Oct. 16, we fly in Oct. 17. Can I drop the 16th later without losing the good rate? The CM wasn't sure. So today I called and there wasn't anything at DLH but the CM had a standard room at GCH for $249. The catch? He thought I said the 17-23 instead of 17-21. I told him we only want the first 4 nights, but when he tried to put that into the computer, the AP7 rate went away! He looked and said it appeared the problem was the first 2 nights, the 17th and 18th. He advised me to hold onto the reservation and check back to see if I could drop the last 2 nights we don't need.

So...what do I ask when I call back? Should I try to combine the AP7 DLH with the AP7 GCH (2 nights at each)? Should I try to get the last 2 nights dropped from the GCH reservation? Ugh!! Does anyone understand what I'm saying? I'm even confusing myself.

Is there a requirement of the number of nights you book? Can you call back and go day by day? Start out with your nightly rates (not the average of all of them, but each night's actual rate) all written out on a piece of paper, so you can write down the rate the CM gives you for each hotel on each night. That way you're organized (and not so confused  ).

But that's what I would do, just go day by day.

Thanks! I have not been able to get that to work yet, but that is how I've pieced together the nights at DLH and GCH. The trouble is there are now other nights added in :upsidedow One other factor is that I can only hold the reservation for so many days before I have to put down a 1-night deposit, and I'm trying to avoid having 4 deposits (prepaying the entire stay). If I can get all the nights reserved within the same window, I can combine them into 1 reservation.

That was Kind advice You gave, Bumbershooter.:goodvibes

Thanks fairykin.

DizMe, I hadn't even thought about it possibly being multiple reservations if using multiple discounts or rates. Hmm.

I am currently on hold. It seems that they will book certain nights together but if you try to adjust the dates, the computer says no. A night may be available in conjunction with other nights but not on its own (shows up as sold out). However, I am not asking to add any nights but take off 2. Since this has confused not only me but the 3 CMs who have tried to help me, I don't feel so dumb ;) I am on hold while the CM gets a supervisor to decide if I can still have the GCH reservation @ the AP7 rate even though I need to drop the last 2 nights.

 :cool1: :thumbsup2 :rotfl: :yay: :woohoo: Yes!!!!! They said yes!! Took a long time on hold and the CM told me they don't normally do that. Now I can relax and enjoy the anticipation! I've never stayed at GCH before, only the DLH.

DizMe...so cool :woohoo: Disney rocks...glad you called back...I know that they (Disney) can 'Dream You!' Because of a little mix-up with codes and AP7 rates... I was able to get the GCH for a price I never dreamed of...Disney Christmas magic!...jc :santa:
