How long are APs good for? until the end of 2004 or for 12 months. If 12 months is it from the date of purchase of the first use?

They are good one year from the date they are activated .

In 2001 I bought my AP voucher in July but didn't activate it until we arrived at WDW in October. I activated it at the Guest services window in MK. My pass was good until October 2002.
