If I buy an AP for myself and book a room, does everyone staying in the room also have to have and AP to book the dining plan? I cannot find the specifics and we would like to use the DDP with our family, but only I will be traveling to WDW more than once to make the best use of the AP.

Only one adult needs to have an AP to get the discount on the room. You can add all of you for the DDP. ::yes:: Who has the AP does not effect the DDP at all. We are doing this exact thing so I know for sure you will be okay!:rotfl:
Hope you have a fabulous trip!!!!:yay:

My understanding is that everyone in the party must have an AP to do the DDP without purchasing the one day base ticket. That is why my Dec ressie is all wacko. Part of us have AP's and the other part doesn't, so they have the ones with AP's on one package and the others on a seperate package.

Good Luck

These are conflicting answers- has anyone else done this?

Well, I decided to call and the CM did not have an answer for me. She thought that as it stands right now, she would not be able to sell a package for only some people in a room, in other words, everyone needs to be on the same package.

We really want to use the DDP- we have had it twice, it is simple and convenient and we understand how it works. In the number crunching even with the 2008 changes, we end up ahead with the character dining our kids enjoy. So I guess if we cannot use the DDP unless we all have APs, then we will just have to book MYW this time. We do have AAA and will be watching for codes, too!

We just returned having stayed at the AP rate with the DDP. We both had AP's but they never asked if we both had them.
