AP vs. MYW when you don't have another trip planned-calling people like me!

Here's my dilemma...up until January 2005 when the new MYW tickets were announced I would normally buy an AP (probably a PAP) as I have in the past and not have to worry if another trip (or two) "popped" up! ;) If I have an AP, then another trip just makes sense...I mean, it's the whole "but I have a ticket already!" argument. Now with the new tickets I'm not sure what to get...financially speaking. Logically, if I don't have another trip planned, I should just get a ticket that covers what I need now...right?? However, I can't stop thinking how nice it would be to have "extra" days to cover another trip.

Right now I have no trip planned "in stone", but I have "possible" trips planned for April/May, July/August (will probably be a longer trip of 10+days), and October. DH and I had PAPs last year-he renewed, I didn't...just didn't have the money at the time. Since he has his PAP until October, he will be much more willing to go to WDW then if he didn't...he's actually pretty addicted, and being a hard-working teacher, thinks of Disney as his "mental" break. So if I get an AP for my next trip (whenever this is), it wouldn't be too hard to "drag" DH on another trip.

Anyone else out there wondering if they should just get a 10 premium non-expiring MYW ticket and just make it work...vs. an AP that would allow extra trips at more money?? After having an AP, it's hard to go back to being restricted, but I'm trying to think what is best for us financially. I'd hate to buy an AP and not use it...you know??

Just wondered if there are any DISers out there that are in the same type of situation...and what you think about APs vs. MYW tickets for previous AP owners!

Thanks!

Since the Price for a Premium Annual Pass is $548.49 (per adult) and the
10-day Magic Your Way Ticket with the Premium option and No Expiration option is $414.29 including tax (or less if you purchase in advance) I'd say that the MYW ticket is a better deal. You just have to be sure that you won't visit the theme parks on more than 10 days during the year and the water parks, Pleasure Island or DisneyQuest on more than 5 days during the year.
And since your husband has the PAP already, you can still get the discounts and specials offered to annual passholders! It all depends on how many days you're wanting to spend at Disney this year! :teeth:

Of course, my family has annual passes. You just can't beat being able to go on last minute "escapes" to Disney.
