Ap Us History

I'm taking it, but I have a really cool teacher, so we barely ever have homework. and he explains things in a way that makes it pretty easy to understand. Although I did fail the test...

I'm taking it, but it's pretty much the coolest class ever. I've got a B+ in it. And Chaimbo is my teacher. He pretty much rocks.

I am not in AP US History. I should of been though. I have the highest grade in my class. My teacher kept me after class last week and asked me why I didn't take the AP class. I told him that I have a lot of honors classes and I think it would of been to hard to keep up with it all. He said that he can switch me to that class if I want to but I wont do it.

I took it last year.
My teacher was a joke, we didn't do any work.
It was fun.

Yeah. I'm a freshman, who goes to an all-honors school. It's definately interesting. I love US History. The teacher can be weird at times, but very understanding with the fact that it's far too advanced.

I am, indeed. The only thing that gets me is the amount of things you have to teach yourself - similarly to a college class. We have a test on 3 or more chapters at least once a week.

YEah. we have like noooooo h/w. but he lectures everyday and we take notes or waht not (by the way I LOVEEEE my ap us teacher lol) and then he has us take notes on the 40 page chapters lol and we have one or two tests a week. fun fun lol

I think my two friends take that class.
They both have told me,it's their hardest class this year.

I took it last year. It really depends on the teacher that you have. It was only the second year that my teacher taught it so he wasn't quite as prepared as an expereinced teacher would be. I failed the test as well. I thought well my teacher is ok, if I just listen then I will do fine. I was wrong. We had to write notes after every chapter and I thought that I could get away with just printing the notes off the internet and highlighting them. BAD! I would have learned so much more had I written them myself. I totally regret it now. so, take this class seriously. If it is hard, good- maybe you will pass the test.

Today while discussing the Alex Hamilton/Aaron Burr shootout/duel, we went outside. We were paired off, given a die and a piece of chalk. We rolled the die and whoever got the highest number picked their political party (Federalists or Democratic-Republicans) and got to 'shoot' first. I won the die roll. We stood back to back, took four paces each, then turned. We were instructed to say our political party and give an insult appropriate for the time period, then 'shoot' by throwing our chalk at our opponant. Can I just say that it was amazing watching my history teacher "kill" a student? It was.

I took APUSH last year, tough course, lots and LOTS of memorization. NEVER forget anything. DBQ's can be tought, but I liked them somewhat. The teacher really does matter, mine rocked outloud. He was very overeccentric. :goodvibes

I wish you the best of luck! And to all those out there who are taking it or think about taking it!

I never took AP US History...I just took regular American history in 8th and 11th grade BUT i did receive my bachelor's degree in May in American History and I am currently working toward a doubler masters degree in American History and Modern European History so if you guys need any help in the history arena, just let me know.

What type of job do you want to do with that?? Teach?

I took it as well. We were constantly writing essays. It sucked. I hated history. I wish I never did. It didn't hardly do a thing for me for getting into college. GPA was really the only thing.

Research and Archives actually. Work with historical documents, research for historical societies, legal firms, environmental firms, insurance companies, etc.

i am. we have an entire packet of homework every night, and im getting sick of it. the tests are brutal, and the study guides, though insanely long, dont even cover everything on the test. i cant believe im not failing out of it.
