Sorry if this has been asked before....
I have a ten day MYW with hopper. If I upgrade what is the voucher worth?
and what expense will I have out of pocket when I upgrade?

If you have already purchased the 10 day hopper, you cannot apply the value of the GAD towards it. You can still use it for one of the other options however - more details in the Ticket Sticky.

You can only apply the value of the GAD ticket when doing an upgrade to a new ticket - in which case it's worth the face value of a 1 day base MYW (currently $79/adult - $68/kids)

If you don't already have your tickets, the way it works is that you take your voucher to a Will Call window at any of the 4 parks and redeem it for your 1 day ticket. Each person with a voucher must be present and have proper ID.

You then use the ticket to enter a park and at any time in the next 14 days (same day if you like) you take it to any Guest Relations window and upgrade it to the ticket you need. They will deduct the value of the GAD ticket from the gate price of whatever you purchase.

Ah, the package throws a wrench into things. Unfortunately you aren't able to apply the GAD ticket towards package tickets, since you have to exchange the voucher and use the ticket in the park first to do an upgrade, and to get a package you have to purchase your tickets at the time you book it.

By definition an upgrade is taking one ticket and adding cash (or similar) and ending up with one ticket with more entitlements. You cannot combine two tickets to get one ticket with more features.*

* The only exception to this rule is at the water parks where you can combine a one day water park ticket with a base or hopping MYW ticket and a payment to end up with a MYW ticket with the WPF&M option. Your payment will be the difference in price between the one day water park ticket and the cost of the WPF&M option plus tax on the difference.
