AP Sneak Peek

Is it common for sneak peeks to occur in reference to new rides for APs? I've read about there being a sneak peek a few days prior to the general park opening but only for upcoming film previews (i.e. Moana, Doctor Strange, Beauty and the Beast)

I have a friend who was able to sign up for an AP only preview of Pandora in AK at WDW but he thinks it'll still be pretty limited. With Mission Breakout! set to open at the end of May, I wonder if there'll be anything similar.

They've done it various ways. Star Tours 2.0 you entered a lottery for the time slot you wanted, then you could bring additional guests. Little Mermaid, you just showed your AP. Cars Land had a paid preview. Matternhorn refurb which was before the 60th had no AP preview. Season of the Force had no AP preview. The latter 2 were press only. A couple of other recent ones that I remember were the Baymax meet and greet and Tomorrowland sneak peak both had 1 day AP previews where you got a small item. The Baymax filled up within a few hours for the whole day. Both opened to all guests the next day, so really the only reason to rush down was for the item, I guess.

Luigi's had an AP preview when it reopened last year and so did Peter Pan when it reopened after its refurb in 2015. You just had to show your pass for both of those.
