edit: we did & still do have 2 seperate reservation nos., but the reservations are "linked". Maybe thaat is why they are able to give AP rates even if the AP holder is in another room?

Yes it has something to do with that. The 2 rooms I booked were linked. Also we all checked in together & of course had the same plans & everything.
