AP Restaurant Discounts?

I am thinking of upgrading to an AP this trip. I know you get a better hotel discount but when I had one before there wasn't any discounts on any restaurants. Is there a list somewhere of them? Thanks!

There are restaurant discounts, but they can be tricky--you really have to pay attention--days of week or time of day can make a difference as to whether or not you get it. Disney website should list all of the restaurants where you get a discount. I currently have an AP, but I would think that even if you don't you should be able to see the list of places that are included, since they want you to buy it. They are currently running an extra 10 to 20% off some of the restaurants--not sure when it ends, but it will be in place when I'm there next month. Restaurant discounts were not my main motivation for getting the AP--going multiple times a year and potential resort discounts were the big factors for me. However, I always ask everyone I go on Disney property--restaurants, stores, tours--whether they offer AP discount. Make sure if you get the AP that you remember, you need to bring it along with a photo ID in order to get any discount--this is one of the things I don't like--preferred before I had the AP when I could just have my Magicband and that's it.

There are some restaurants with 30% discounts. I was hoping to snag Jiko this week but there was no availability. We have Citrico and Flying Fish.

Most of the AP discounts are for the table service restaurants at the resorts. The AP discount is usually 10% and excludes alcoholic beverages. There is currently a special discount of 20% and 30% until September 30th. Then the AP discount goes back to 10%.

I just got back from a trip, and received AP discounts at Whispering Canyon Cafe, Geyser Point, and Skipper's Canteen at the Magic Kingdom.
Geyser point I was just a walk up--but at WCC and Skippers I had an ADR. It was great--because it was already on my reservation, my server knew in advance about my AP discount and automatically applied it!

I noticed on the link that some of the discounts had the ending 9/30 and some did not. The calendar didn't have Nov. "blacked-out" either? I would not be using it until November but would love the 10% at Ohana 2x, 1900, Akershus and 50's Cafe.

And if you aren't sure if the restaurant you are at has a discount or not ask your waiter when you go to pay they will apply it then if applicable.

Another AP ?: Is the photo-download the same thing that is included in the $169 photo offer?

Yes. APs get memory maker included.

And FYI-hotel discounts have been questionable this year. Some people have had luck, but very very low availability. If you are going in November, I wouldn't expect it, just be excited if it does happen!

The discounts now are a special deal through Sept 30 and more places and higher percentages than they ever got. I always bought TiW until this discount but am fully prepared that they might go back to the old way after Sept 30. We just don't know.

I would love the photo-download since we have the grandchildren with us this trip and will want a lot of photos.:)

Also, a RO discount would be great since we are now booked at the POLY without one. :(

Even 10% would be great since there are 5 of us.

We just got back from WDW about 2 hours ago. I've had an AP for years but really didn't have very good luck with discounts this trip. The hotel discounts weren't any better than the general discount. We ate at the bar at Poly - no discount even on the food. We ate at the bar at CR - no discount, we ate at Victoria and Alberts (knew there would be no discount there) ate at the outside of HBD - no discount. Ate at Spice Road Table - yea finally a discount. Bought an ornament and a goblet at Germany - got discounts. Bought a mask at Italy - no discount.

Sorry, another ?:

If I purchase the AP in Sep. so I can do my FP, but don't activate it until we go end of Nov., can I use it for a room discount if there is one offered before I go/activate in November?

This year was a 'very' good year for AP discounts at restaurants. It's a special for the 45th anniversary, and we got 20% off at several restaurants - ends Sept. 30.
