AP resort discount after expiration

We have APs that expire at the end of June and we are hoping to get one final trip in before they expire. We will only be able to go 4 days before they expire so we wanted to extend the trip another 3 days and enjoy everything outside of the parks. I have a split stay booked with my AP discount, but our checkout date is 2 days after the APs expire and then we transfer to another resort for 1 night before leaving. Will I have any issues since I booked both resorts with the AP discount and it expires before we checkout?

I doubt that they will bother you about it. I suggest paying in full a little before trip date, just in case.

I've never ever been asked for an AP when I checked in, using an AP rate. You will *probably* be fine, as long as it's valid for at least 1 day when you check in.

You may have an issue at the second resort as you will not have an active AP when you check in there. Technically, you don't have a right to an AP rate there if your AP is expired (unless you renew).
I wouldn't risk it, myself. We have been asked to see our AP at check in, although not always. I expect that you will be OK at the first resort, but even that isn't certain if they check the AP upon arrival.

I agree with this. If your AP has expired prior to check in to resort 2, then you don't have an AP and you shouldn't be given the discount. In the old days when there was no MDE and computers had minimal info you had to show your AP. The reason you don't have to show it now is because the computer knows if you have an AP. You were able to book now because you have an AP and the system will assume it will be renewed by then. I would plan on paying full price for the second room or rebook it using a general public discount. It should be about the same anyway.

Really a good idea to try for the GP discount. For one night the difference, if any, would be minimal and you wouldn't risk getting hit with rack rate when you arrive.

Your discount is good until it expires - then you will be charged the non AP rate...it is all in the computer info and will adjust automatically. Trying to book a GP discount would be worthwhile if you are not going to renew your AP.

I was able to rebook the one night at the second resort using the general public special rate. It was a $50 difference, but it's worth it knowing there won't be any issues. Thank you everyone for the advice!
