This is the first time I have renewed an AP. I ordered on-line before the expiration of my pass. Will I need to go to guest services to activate it before entering a park?

Some answers vary...from my experience on renewing (Florida resident), I've never had to go anywhere to activate it or double check. And really, why would you? It's a renewal so it doesn't stop, it just carries over..so there's nothing to activate.

So unless it's different for out of state (if you are), or it's recently changed, you should be fine already

The website tells you when you need to stop to get it activated and they send you a voucher. it's very few people that get this. If you weren't told anything and you see your pass in the tickets section expiring a year later then your good to go. note, you get a free month right now do you'll see your pass expires 13 months later and not 12 so next year it'll be feb you have to renew.

The passholder card you already have is still valid and just use that for your discounts and parking.

My pass shows as a DVC renewal, but also shows an expiration of 2030 and indicates I can reassign. If this isn't what it typically looks like on-line, I will probably stop at guest services first so I don't end up waiting in line at security just to be sent somewhere else.

you might be in that small select group that gets a renewal certificate and need to activate it.

Figures . . . thanks for the information. I will probably plan to check at guest services to avoid an issue.
