What is the general discounted AP room rates during value season for deluxe resorts? I know the mods are generally $99 a night, but what is the usual price on the deluxes? Obviously noone knows for sure, but just to get an idea would be helpful. Thanks!

What about Wilderness Lodge? Any AP discounts there during Value season?

WL Standard was $154, courtyard was $199 for value season in AUG.

I am a newbe to this and am trying to get a stay at the pop centry for feb 24 to march 3 HELP

I am somewhat new to this and have similar questions. We are certain there will be annual trips to WDW for at least the next five years. DH and I are debating DVC at the moment. APs (and trips 50, rather than 52, weeks apart, to maximize savings) are definately in the works.

We would not be making our next trip until July. I believe I can purchase APs now, and not activate them until our visit to WDW. Would this put me in the system to receive room discounts? Or must the AP be activated first? And how are the discounts announced? I receive discount PIN emails from Disney persiodically; are AP room discounts announced in the same way?

AAA members with Disney Visa, if that makes any difference.

Thank you to anyone who can help me with this.

As far as booking AP discounts, you do not have to have the AP or voucher to book. You must have it to check in. We booked an AP discount and purchased the AP upon arrival to WDW and went and checked in. NO Problem.

Thank you so much for this information! May I ask, how do you know of/book AP discounts if you do not have an AP? Is this information announced publicly by Disney, or does a code watch thread need to be monitored?

To do this you order your AP and they send you a card that you trade in when you get to WDW for your actual AP. The card you get has a # on the back of it that you can use to log into the passholder section of the WDW website. Or if your like me, you check DIS all the time and see the codes here first then when you call to make your resie you ask for the AP discount if one is available for your time frame and resort. This is my first time with an AP so I'm sure if I have anything wrong one of the more seasoned pros here will correct me.

Good luck!

Thank you! I've got it now. :)

One more question: is there a AAA discount on APs, or are they purchased at the same price as direct from Disney?

(Armed with all this knowledge, I'm about to obsessively begin planning for a trip ten months away!)

The only place you can purchase an AP is through Disney. There are ways to purchase a ticket for a specific timeframe at a discount and then upgrade to AP and realize a discount, but I have never done this. I believe you can obtain this info from Mousesavers.com.

You actually do not have to have either the voucher or the actual AP to book the AP discounts. You just have to have the AP upon checkin. I have done this quite a few times in the past including just this past May. I booked the room at the AP rate and purchased the AP just before checking in. You can get the discount codes from Mousesavers.com or just call WDW and book at an AP rate if available. You cannot access the AP section of WDW.com unless you have the voucher or actual AP though.

You can obtain a code on Mousesavers.com or just call WDW. Most CMs will quote an AP discount if out there. You can also watch here for codes. Usually they are on a thread within a very short time.

Actually if you read my post correctly you will see that I said you can get the ap to log onto the site to check whats available OR check on dis for the discount codes. I didn't say you had to have it to book the discounts.

Actually, we were able to purchase an AP vouchers at a slight discount through our local AAA. I don't know if all the offices have them. When I heard the rates were going up this summer, I went ahead and purchased the vouchers and then waited until our trip a month and a half later to activate them. The other good thing about getting the vouchers from our AAA was that they also gave us a diamond parking pass at the same time.
