Does anyone know if they have AP rates for the Shades of Green hotel? When will they be finished with upgrading the hotel?
Thanks

I don't think they do. They were supposed to be complete by March 1. I think they have the original 287 rooms complete & are now hoping to finish the remainder of the resort by April 1. I guess we'll see what happens.

BTW - you have to be a military member or staying with family that is military to use this resort (which you very well may be). :D

I just made a reservation last month and they sent me a confirmation letter along with a price list. There is no AP rate on there. Hope that it helps.

Plus I had made my reservation for Nov and she said that they were starting to really get busy so if you are planning on staying there you might want to call soon.

No, SOG does not offer discounts. Especially AP discounts since they are not a Disney hotel. SOG, since it is owned by the Army, doesn't gain anything from you buying an annual pass, and therefore doesn't need to reward passholders. Wish they did, but no.

As a Deluxe hotel, SOG is the best value going! You NEVER get any Deluxe for under $100 no matter what discount you have, but at SOG it is done daily!! This really is one of the best places to stay on property!!

The original 287 rooms reopened March 1. The rest of the rooms and amenities are supposed to be open by the end of the month..I think I've seen March 25 tossed around as the possible date.

Great resort! Can't wait to see the changes in May!!

Thanks fof info. We are trying now to make a reservation for Nov or Oct. Hope we get one.

sdevir, SoG sells the AP at a discounted rate so if you want to purchase AP's to make future trips within the year cheaper, you can do that. Probably if SoG is full in Nov or Oct you would still be better off with overflow rates to the Disney hotels than any AP discount, but did want to say you can buy AP's there if you want them.

Actually, in December of last year, the AP rate was better than the overflow rate. We were at AKL. FL res and AP rate was $121.50 including tax and SOG overflow rate was $138.56 including tax! I was surprised, but that's what we paid!!

And yes, they do sell the AP at a small discount. But by the time you figure not paying tax, it adds up to a decent amount...worth the trip over there to buy them even if you're not staying there.
