AP Rate vs Member Discount

I have both booked for May. The AP rate is less than the DVC Member discount rate (Though not by much). With the AP rate you also get housekeeping which you do not with the DVC discounted reservation. Are there any differences between the two types of reservations other than housekeeping? Is a DVC memeber reservation treated any differently than one through CRO?

I have a 2 night member discount reservation coming up, then 5 nights with points (Friday and Saturday cash). For an OKW 1 bedroom, the member rate is $288, the AP rate is $270. I thought about it and talked to member services. If I changed to the AP rate, they cannot guarantee that we will not have to move. It is considered 2 separate reservations. I assume you would have to at least informally check out and check back in when your points reservation starts. The member discount reservation is considered 1 and is guaranteed not to move, they said we would get 1 keycard for the entire week. On an AP reservation, you would have to put the deposit down in advance. I don't really want housekeeping. I would have to pickup an AP before we checked in (mine expired), we're not arriving until about 6:00pm. So I decided to just leave it. If it was more of a difference, I might have done it. I was hoping the AP rates would be under $250, I think it was $239 last May. I would have definitely changed it for that.

What really kills me is I was thinking of spending those first 2 nights at POFQ. When I heard about the great upgrade rates, I was kicking myself!

If you have children that are 17 or older, on the AP rate they charge for the additional person/people in the room. I have a week at BWV the end of June, and 60 pts per night for Friday and Saturday is a lot of pts, so I was going to switch to the AP rate until I was told that the extra over-17 year old child would make the room cost over $300 per night.
