Ap rate for Thanksgiving weekend?

We just decided last night that we will we going Nov. 21-25. I haven't booked anything yet. Since we know we're going to go next year too I think we may get AP's.

Will there be an AP rate for those dates? Do I book a room now and then see if I can get a price adjustment? Or do I have to wait til the rates come out?

We have been to WDW 4 times over Thanksgiving Weekend. We have gotten an AP rate the last 3 times. BUT, you may have to check in the sunday or monday before for it to apply.

I do remember 2002, our 1st time, we checked in on the Wednesday before and we did not get it. BUT, if we had checked in on Monday that year, we would have gotten it.

There is another thread going that you can look at regarding AP rates for the holidays. Im in that thread..just not sure which one is it. Sorry.

We always book the AAA Rate early. I have to make our deposit by June 20th for this thanksgiving. So, yes it would be wise to at least get your room. After August, Thanksgiving time starts to fill fast.

As kinggoofy stated, there are black outs around all holidays when it comes to codes/discounts. However, if there is a discount and you book it on the last day available, you can stretch it through 10 nights, so sometimes you can still get it through a black out time.

There are limited availability during heavy booking times of year (June & July), blackouts the week before and week after Easter Sunday, not many discounts offered around Christmas/NYE. I've seen entire months go without discounts. A few years ago September didn't receive any discounts and the following October didn't receive any. It's hard to say and judge whether there will be one or not. One thing Disney does do, and that's to keep us guessing -- and coming back.
