AP rate for POP end of Aug

Hi All,

Sorry I have no clue how AP rate works. Here is my situation. I booked FD for my family Aug 21-30 and wanted to bring my Dad. I read that the FD offer is not the best for single traveler. But I am not sure what discount is available for the same time frame. I am DVC member and I am thinking about getting AP. Could I get a discounted room at POP for my Dad that way?

Will your Dad be staying at POP with you? If you get an AP you could wait for the discounted rates to come out for August and then book a room for your Dad under your name. Or you could book an extra room for him with FD. The discounted AP rates are cheap, but if your Dad is going to be with you for the whole trip then I would get him FD along with your family so you can all dine together.

Personally I would go the FD route for him. You'll be paying rack rate for the Value period, but he would have free food which comes in handy money wise. JMO

I would not count on there being rooms available at Pop at a discounted rate during the free dining period. If your father is going to be eating with you and going to the parks with you, book an extra room for him on your reservation and get him the free dining.

Thanks for the suggestions. I got him a room on FD too. I will keep an eye open to see if we can find him better deals. He will go to parks with us some days, but not all the time. It would be handy to be on the dining plan. I just feel a little bad since he will pay almost the same amount as the four of us.
