I am planning to upgrade my FL 3 day pass to a FL seasonal AP when we go next month. I reserved our room at the AP rate. The CM told me on the phone that I have to have my AP at the time of check-in. I can't upgrade to a seasonal AP over the phone, it has to be done at guest relations in WDW, SO for anyone in this situation...

Did the front desk allow you to check in and then show your AP during your stay or did you actually have to have the AP at check-in? I know in the past they allowed you to check in and then present the AP during your trip but this may have changed? I just want to know if we need to stop by DTD when we get there and then go and check-in. Thanks.:)

The front has never asked to see my AP, but I always had it ready. My understanding is that as long as you are going to purchase one, it will be fine. The CM may ask you to stop by the front desk after you have it to show them, but I bet that would be rare.

CRO often has misinformation, but officially a guest who books the AP rate must purchase an AP that trip or have one to show at check-in.

Hope this helps! :thumbsup2

We have always gone to the closest park near the hotel we were staying and get the AP prior to checking in. Sometimes I have been asked sometimes, not, but in these most recent years I think they already know on checkin since the AP and reservations are tied to a phone number. They always ask that on checkin. Just my thoughts on why sometimes now we are not asked. In earlier years, we always were asked.

Margate here. Have you tried to see if the Fl rate is available when you are planning on going? I just booked a room for DD25's b-day next month. Ap and Fl rate is the same. I know when I used to book for with AP rates I was never asked for my AP but if the FL rate is available I would book that and then you don't have to worry about it. Don't you love that we are getting 3 extra months? We are.

FWIW, I've never been asked to show the AP at check-in at a WDW resort, and, in the past, I've had an AP I bought at the Disney Store, so it wasn't connected to my reservation or phone number, etc.

The only time I was asked to show the AP was at the Swan.

But everyone seems to have a different experience.
