AP Questions: WOC picnic and Halloween Ticket Discounts

I'm considering getting APs to start using for our October 2011 trip. I'd like to purchase the WOC picnic and Halloween Party tickets before our visit. If I buy the APs online before our visit, can I use them to get discounts on the picnic and Halloween party or does the AP have to be activated at DL before getting the discounts? Thanks!

You will have to activate your AP at the park to get your AP number and access to the AP site, so unfortunately you won't be able to get the discount in advance online. You might try calling though and they may be able to do it over the phone with information from your confirmation voucher, but no promises since they charge in advance for those items and there is no guarantee of when you are planning to activate your AP.
