I hope this is the right place for this question. I've been lurking here for months put haven't really posted.

I just ordered an AP Voucher for our trip in November. We are staying off-site. My question is will they let you park for free at the park the day we arrive with the voucher or do I need to somehow activate it before then so we don't have to pay the $8 to park.

Just tell them you are going to the park to activate your voucher and they will wave you through.

The answer in practice is maybe. It depends on the particular CM you get at the toll booth. Disney policy says you do not get any perks with the voucher (ie: you can't use the voucher for a 10% lunch discount at Le Cellier, etc) and the same goes for the free parking. But some CM's will wave you through. Others will charge you the $8. If they charge you, simply take the parking receipt to the Guest Relations location where you will activate it and they will refund the same day parking fee to you.

Worst thing that will happen is that you will have to pay up front and then guest relations will refund you, as GoldenOldie said.

Hopefully, the CM will wave you through, however.
