AP Question

We recently purchased WDW AP's because it was more economical to buy them and get the resort discount than to buy a five day pass and pay full price for the resort.

Are there any perks -- no matter how minor -- for WDW AP holders in DL? We have a friend's wedding (on July 17, 2005, no less) and may visit DL while we're in SoCal for a long weekend. Another scenario is that DL may be part of our honeymoon plan later this year, so if we can take advantage of any savings it'd be wonderful!

Sorry, but there are no benefits for WDW passholders at DL nor vice versa.

But the benefits for DL passholders at DL are pretty good, so you might want to look into getting one for DL too!

How many people can say they have APs for DL and WDW?

We often hold both, but we let the WDW ones lapse between DVC trips since they're so expensive to maintain... :faint:

And yes, we'll get two (or more if we're lucky) trips out of each WDW AP.

I don't know that a DL AP would be worth it for a single weekend trip. The breakeven for us (Premium DL Passes) is 3 weekends a year. Your mileage may vary.

Can someone point me to sie where the AP benefits and breakeven points are listed, please? I'm looking into DL for a honeymoon and need some sites to help me out. I have tons of bookmarks for WDW, but none for DL.

You can see a list of the discounts at disneyland.com .

Breakeven on the Deluxe (no parking) is 5 days; for the Premium is 7 days based on parkhopper presale prices.

We are going to DL in August for 5 nights booked through AAA, staying at the GC. Would buying a premium AP and redoing the reservations with the AP discount be a better deal. I keep hearing that there are hotel discounts and other such percs for AP passholders, but never see any actual amounts, so I was just wondering.

Thanks
Doug

Doug,

So much depends on your exact dates and if there are any specials running at the time.
We just stayed at DL hotel and were able to get an AP rate of $119, normal rate for the room would have been $205. That was a January special deal though - also all the discounted rooms at both GC and PP for our dates were gone.
I wouldn't expect that type of discount in Aug.
When we stayed at Christmas time a year ago the best we could get with our AP was 10% off reg. room rates.

There are other small discounts on dining and merchandise - but they vary depending on the type of AP.

The AAA package offers some perks as well.

You could probably call the reservations line and ask what if any AP discounts are available for your dates and go from there.
