AP Question - expiration

My DVC AP has an expiration date of 1/17/15. Does that mean that I can actually use the ticket on 1/17 or only up to closing time on 1/16?

It can be used for park entry on the 17th.

You can use it 1/17. AP's are in fact good for one full year plus a day from date of activation (or prior expiration date if a renewal), making date of the month for expiration the same as the one for activation.

I can confirm it will be good on the 17th...ours expired May 28th and we used them all day until park closing the same day.
