I used a bounceback offer to book a trip, room only, for June 5th. (This is 2 days after the AP offers run out.) At the time, the CM says I can book dining(I did say I had an AP) if I want. Wasn't sure if I wanted it or not and she said I can change later. Called back today to book the DDP and spoke to several people. All agreed I cannot have the DDP because I want to use my AP's. To get dining (NOT even free dining, DDP that I would pay for), I would have to purchase a days worth of tix for all?? Is this correct? SHoud I call someone different? This is very confusing. I do not want something I'm not supposed to have, but this is very different from what I was told.:scared1:

no you don't have to buy a ticket. Call back and just keep going up the chain until you get someone with a clue. Good luck!

Totally wrong information. Sounds like you need to play another round of castmember roulette!

I just booked a room only with AP discount and I was asked if I wanted to add the DDP to it. You can add DDP to any room only within three days of arrival.

I didn't answer because I wasn't 100% sure, but I was thinking the same thing, you can get the DDP that you pay for, just not the Free DDP.

Thanks for the responses. This is how I felt about it too, but I just wanted to check and make sure I wasn't asking for too much. Just to clarify, no one has been told that a bounceback offer would negate this because you're receiving a discount? This is specifically what I was told. It made me a little mad, because the bounceback CM told me different.

I am confused, isn't the bounce back offer for a package deal which would include free dining? I did this last year but I had to book a package and purchase a 1 day ticket. Just confused, please clarify.

Are there different bounce back offers for AP holders? I have considered purchasing an AP in the past but thought it would not benefit us but maybe there is more to the AP than I know.

I think it depends on the offer you used. If the bounceback offer was not an AP offer then I think you do need a ticket. But if you booked some sort of AP offer, you don't. You should check out the AP site now, t hey might have a discount that goes through June.

You can only add the dining plan without paying for tickets if you book an AP only rate. This can be a discounted rate or rack rate, but it is specific to only AP members. Currently, the discounted rates only go until 6/3.

Since bounceback isn't an AP rate, you would not be able to add dining without making it a package. This would include buying a minimum of a one day ticket.

While APs can get you some really good room only rates, it does stink that you can only take advantage of other popular promotions (bounceback, free dining, etc.) if you buy a ticket. :(

Thanks for clarification on that. It is beginning to gel in my head! I think we have decided to purchase TIW for one of us and then order giftcards to use to pay for the meals. What I wanted to accomplish was prepayment, so that we don't end up paying off an portion of our trip after the fact. With a GC, we can accomplish that and also minimize the amount of food we are eating (don't normally eat desert at every meal, etc.)If we have anything left on the GC, we'll save it for next time. If we end up needing more $$ than is onour GC, we can POP at that time. Thanks for the responses! It helped!

I was just going to post exactly what sumertime already said. :goodvibes

We are AP holders and always book passholder + dine packages, with an AP discounted room. Since July AP rates aren't out yet, we booked a bounceback rate for Yacht Club so we'd at least have a discounted room booked. Tried to add dining, but was told we would have to get a one day ticket since it is a bounceback rate, not an AP rate. There are only 2 room types that can be booked with a passholder + dine package: rack rate (:scared1:) or an AP rate. Unfortunately, bouncebacks need a ticket purchase to get dining. So for now we have a room only ressie with our bounceback rate, and are hoping to rebook as an AP rate + dining package when July AP rates come out. :goodvibes

Thanks. At least I know it was accurate!

Yes, sorry somehow I missed the "bounceback" part and focused on the AP part. So I guess they were right and the first CM was wrong!
