AP expiration date?

I thought that my annual pass expires one year from the date I activate it. At least that is the way it was a few years ago. My 2004 ap was activated on April 1 but the notice from disney saids that my ap expires in January 2005. Has their policy on this changed? thanks

Was yours a renewal or a new pass? Used to be the renewals expired a year from activation, but for the past few years they have expired a year from the last expiration date.

If you purchased a brand new AP certificate, then it will expire a year from the date you first activate it. However, if you purchase an AP ticket it will expire a year from the date you bought it. If you have a renewal certificate or renew your ticket then it will always keep the original month and day of expiration, only one year later!

thanks. But what is the difference between an annual pass ticket and annual pass certificate? I purchased the annual pass that you get with the little booklet in the mail. It wasn't a renewal this year.

Disney recently had a glitch in thier system that caused expiration notices to be sent in the mail to people whose APs were not really up for renewal.

Check the back of the pass; it has the expiration date printed right on it.

The back of my pass saids valid through 01/04/05 and then it saids, WMK and the date that I activated it which is 04/01/04. So, now I am really confused.

To me, that looks like someone transposed the day and month numbers. I'd get on the phone about that.
