We're planning to go in November/December....and I'm on the fence about staying on or off site this time because it's a much shorter stay. So...I was trying to find out what the possible AP discounts would be (I know no guarantee, etc, but just trying to get a fix on what discount amounts might be).

So...I "pretend" that I'm going during the May-August AP discount.....I plug in a variety of dates and resorts, but they all come up basically the same rate as if I pretend for September when there aren't rate discounts out yet. The only one I found that was different was POR instead of being $149 it was $144.

Is $5 off a room REALLY considered a discount? Yeah, $5 over a week is $35 but still. I was hoping for a much large discount....like 20-25%? Is that going to happen? If not, I'll stick with off site I guess.

From my experience as an AP holder, if it's value season there are most likely AP discounts released. We've also been lucky during regular season to get AP discounts. Have not tried peak or holiday, so I can't comment on that. So maybe look at your specific dates and see which season you are looking at. I think most of November is considered regular season, not sure how they classify Thanksgiving week, and early December is value season.

And no, $5 discount would not be a good or normal AP discount. We normally stay at deluxe resorts and our discount ranges from $80-110 off per night, depending on the season.

According to Allears, Thanksgiving week is considered Regular...but the other weeks we'll be there are value.

So, it sounds like it's possible that the moderates would go down to closer to $100 a night, instead of $149 during value? Cool...then we'd probably do that for a few nights, and stay off site for some as well, especially T-day week.

You know, I have no idea if AP discounts are offered during Tgiving week itself, but I'm almost positive discounts have always been offered in early December which is considered value season. We stayed at POR last month (April) during spring breaks and it was considered regular season. AP discounts were offered for that time frame. We paid $129 + tax rather than the rack rate of $165 + tax, so savings of around $36 per night. Then we moved over to WL woods view and we paid approx $185 + tax rather than the rack rate of $295, so savings there of $110 per night.

Good luck to you!

If you want to have an idea of what past AP Rates have been since 2004 PM me and I can get them to you. Thanks
